Curly Brown and White Cow
Curly Brown and White Cow is a 12 by 12 original oil on gallery wrapped canvas with 3/4 inch sides. I am pretty hooked on this size....it makes for a geat portrait and looks really pretty framed in a gold plein air frame or even unframed. Just an idea. I love these cows...I never tire of discovering the new faces and bringing them to life in oils. Many times I begin the drawing with an acrylic wash but it is not until I begin to work in oil that the depth and richness begins. It is currently on a five day auction on eBay....just click on the link to my store. Thanks for stopping by!

The Classic Pear
Today was a great painting day. I worked on two new ones...a new calf and this pear. I also did some finishing touches to two cows that I did yesterday. You should see all the brushes I have to clean tonight! Thanks to my friend Roxanne, I learned to use good 'ol ivory soap instead of the harsh cleaner I have been using.
The Classic Pear is an 8 by 8 original oil on gallery wrap canvas. It is now on aution on eBay...just click on my store link. Thanks for stopping by....Norma

Chincoteatue Wild Pony

These wild ponies were soooo beautiful when we finally got to see them the day of our paint out. We were all working for hours capturing the beauty of Chincoteague when they first came into view. As time went by they came closer and closer until I was able to use my zoon lens to capture some great close ups of their faces. I have loved horses since I was a little girl growing up in Philadelphia. We lived in the city with no place for a horse but I did dream of keeping one if our little one car garage. My Dad didn't go for it! Anyway, it is fun to paint them now and appreciate their beauty. Perhaps one day I will have that dream of owning one and learning to ride. This is a 12 by 12 original oil which is now on auction on eBay. Just click on my eBay store link... Thanks for stopping by!

He is on a 12 by 12 gallery wrapped canvas and is currently on auction on eBay. You can click on my link to eBay to find out more and see more paintings! Thanks for stopping by.....

Valentia Calf in Mum's Shadow

I had a wonderful day today painting this piece which is larger than most of my daily postings. It is a 20 by 20 original oil on stretched canvas with wrap around 3/4 inch sides that are painted as well. I first fell in love with the cows in Ireland as a child and that has continued on each visit since then. My mother is from Ireland and all her family still live there. Perhaps it is my celtic roots that I feel when I see these soulful creatures that are so enormous and beautiful. It is now on auction on eBay so click on my link to my eBay store to find it. Thanks and have a great weekend! Norma

Hmmmmm...well, here it is and hopefully I'll be able to post another for tonight but I might leave this one to get on the site. It is on auction on eBay so click on my store link for more information. Thanks for stopping by.... Norma

White Rabbitt

White Rabbit is a 9 by 12 original oil that I painted today. I began four new pieces....all animals and this one was completed in time to get on auction on eBay and to post here. I grew up in a little row house in Philadelphia surrounded by concrete. We hardly ever saw fields or open spaces and never had rabbits running around outside. I do remember a time when a friend who had a pet bunny rabbit asked me to keep her rabbit for the weekend while they went out of town. It was so exciting to have a live animal in the house and my mother let me leave it out so it could hop around my living room and dining room. Now I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood that has lots of trees, a lake out back and tons of rabbits, squirrels, fox, geese, ducks, and more. I love being surrounded by nature! I love painting nature too. Enjoy! To bid on this piece or any others in my blog....click on my store on eBay and if you don't find it, contact me as nswilsonandco@cox.net. Nite SOLD

Sunlit Shasta Daisies

Happy New Year!
Sunlit Shasta Daisies is a piece currently in my store inventory on eBay and is a 16 by 20 original oil. Thanks for looking in on me and I'll be busy in my studio creating all kinds of fun stuff in the days, weeks, and months to follow this year....the good lord willin'! God Bless.... NORMA
