I spent the evening in my studio painting as I had been out and about running errands all day. It was pretty quiet in my cul de sac after the intial flurry of trick or treaters. My son Andrew did not dress up this year as he is too "old" for it now. I remember that was sad to be too old for something so fun. I bought him a bunch of candy though. I spent most of today working on a commission and feeling kind of frustrated and fearful of not being able to live up to my own expectations on it. That led to more frustration and fear as those kind of thoughts tend to do. I just read a prayer on another artists blog that was just what I needed to hear this evening. Tomorrow is another day and things have a way of looking better in the new light of day. I'll leave you with St. Theresa's prayer.....

Today was a busy day with errands all morning. I got a new battery for my camera and it is working now. It was my first new battery since I got my camera four years ago! I worked on my commissioned piece of three children on the beach in pastel. It is coming along nicely. I also finished a pet portrait commission and did this racoon. Today's painting is a 5" by 7" painting on wrap around canvas with sides painted making framing optional. Pansies amaze me the way they survive into the winter months around here and can be seen poking out of the snow sometimes. I enjoy placing them in a little bud vase and painting them in sitting by my studio window. Today was a busy day running errands, painting in my studio, and a friend of my son was here trying to fix my other lap top which crashed for the second time about a month ago. Tomorrow will be another busy day volunteering at a gallery in Portsmouth where I have some of my paintings displayed. I am looking forward to being out and about but then I will be back here tomorrow evening to paint some more. I have a new commission of three adorable little children to begin this weekend and a portrait of a little yorkie. Much to do and not enough time to sleep! Guess I'd better go to bed now!
