Norma Wilson White Irish Dairy Cow Art

Today was a busy Monday with painting, groceries, and office time. I did complete this cow this evening and I am very pleased with her. I love all the colors I see in the white fur and I guess I am just partial to these white Irish beauties. I still can't gets over how enormous they are and the strking contrast they are in the landscape. Wish I was like Samantha on Bewitched and could just wiggle my nose and find myself standing on the farmland by the sea in Valentia watching these cows graze with the sun on their backs and the water in the distance glistening. If I close my eyes, I can almost smell the peat fires burning in the cottages and hea the occasional MOOOO!

Have a wonderful day!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Guinea Pig Pet Portrait

Hope you are having a good week so far. I had a really fun day today working with Danna Crawford who is Powerselling Mom on eBay. She gave me some great tutoring on how to develop HTML codes and place them on myspace and also how to create my own listing templates. My brain is a bit fried tonight but I did made some codes to save on my clipboard and left some comments on friend's blogs on eBay. It is a great networking tool. If you would like to see my myspace....go to www.myspace.com/normawilsonfineart. I joined twitter today also if any of you belong to twitter.com. I am not sure how it all works totally but I think I'll know more by tomorrow night. It was a lot to take in today. She uses twitter on her web site. Well enough marketing for tonight. This painting is being done as a commission and it is my first guinea pig! I like how he is coming along. I may tweek him a bit in the next day or so and then I need to begin on my next commission which is a yorkie. Form more information about commissioning a portrait of your special pet, please contact me at normasart@cox.net.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Blonde Cow Approaches

11" by 14" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted

I had a great day today starting with a few hours catching up in my office. Andrew was home from school as it is spring break so it felt extra casual. After lunch, I did some shipping of paintings and started this painting and also worked on a commission of a guinea pig! My treat after working all day was to watch Oprah and Ekhardt Tolle on her webinar featuring the book, "The New Earth". It has been an awesome experience and tonight was expecially good. All in all, a great day. I have painted this cow before in a different format and using different colors. It is amazing how many ways you can approach a subject. I like how it turned out and hope you do too! Have a great day tomorrow and thanks for checking in!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Hydrangea Bouquet Floral Art

20" by 20" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted.

Today was a good busy day in my studio with a painting that was great fun to do. Hydrangeas are my favorite flower in summer and I love to cut them and put them in a vase in my kitchen too. Hope you are having a great week. My trip to Philadelphia was a good one. It was good to see my siter and her husband and my Mom again. I stopped in Philly and saw my Aunt Mildred too. It was a lot of driving but Andrew and I got to visit and chat in the car along the way. I realized how fast he is growing up and how much I enjoy our time together. Each moment is precious. Til tomorrow.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Red Robin Bird Painting Art

5" by 7" original oil on masontie board.

Can't believe it is Thursday again! Hope you have all had a good week. It has been a busy one here on the home front and in the studio. Brewsky, my grand puppy, has been visiting while my son has been in Miami. Oh, to be young again! He is a 76 pound lab and yesterday we had him "fixed". He was a bit groggy yesterday but today he has been full of the joys of spring and more active than ever. If only we humans, could let go of traumas so easily!

Today's painting is a little one on a standard size masonite board so it can easily be put into your favorite frame. Not that spring is here I have been drawn to flowers and robins to paint. The trees here in Virginia are all in bloom and tulips are poking out of the ground. Hope you have a great Friday!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Tulip Opening Up Close Floral Art

I must be having spring fever as my heart keeps turning to tulips. I love the bright colors and the cheerfulness of tulips. I just did my family room with a green sectional and have red and yellow accents. I think these must be my colors as I look at many of the paintings in my gallery. Hope they are yours too! I have been getting requests for florals and many nice e-mails. I can hardly keep up but I am giving it a good effort. Hope your week is going well. If you have another favorite flower....let me know!

Norma Wilson Original Soft Pastel Custom Pet Portrait

9" by 12" soft pastel on wallis professional sanded paper.

This piece was done awhile back and is a good example of a commissioned portrait done from a photograph. Many clients give me their favorite photos of their pet and I create a portrait done in either soft pastel or oil. Sometimes they have specific backgrounds in mind or just want the pet to be the main focus. I love animals and am so grateful that I can do something that I love every day. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at normasart@cox.net or call me at 757 729-4136 which is my studio number and we can discuss your needs. Hope you had a great weekend. I enjoyed having my son, Sean here last evening but today he left on his Florida spring break. He left his black lab, Brewsky, here for us to enjoy. I started working with Bark Busters on Friday and training has been going really well. It has been so nice to have a bit of control over the "pack"! Thanks for stopping by!
