Norma Wilson Original Oil White Cow From Ireland Art

Ireland's Bovine Lady

12" by 12" original oil on gallery wrapped canvas with sides painted

I thought this cow had such a sweet face and a softness about her. I think I captured it. She was fun to spend time with this afternoon.

What a speedy week it has been. I have been painting a lot and had my student over yesterday. Tomorrow I am at Harbor's Edge for a class again. I reorganized my studio a bit and now have shelving with a wooden palette on top of it in front of my easel and I am really liking the new set up. It's amazing how a change like that can make you so much more productive. It has been such a windy, rainy day today. It felt like it was night time all day and the rain was torrential for hours. I was proud of myself for resisting the urge to take a nap and completed three paintings! Hope your Friday and the weekend are great! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil English Robin Bird Art

English Robin Takes The Stump

8" by 10" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted which makes framing optional.

This little guy really took on a whimsical quality as I painted him. I think it is his stance. He really looks like he is on the stump and giving an important speech. Too much late night Larry King Live for me, I suppose. Well, it was another great day of shipping, organizing my studio some more, and teaching this afternoon. My student, Kathy, worked on a lovely landscape with herons in the marsh grasses. It reminded me of our trip there last week. Hope your day is bright tomorrow and full of fun and whimsy!

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Hope you had a great weekend! It was a gorgeous day here in Virginia today. I spent the afternoon enjoying Andrew's soccer game outside in the fresh air. Afterwards we ate at Texas Road House. I had French Onion Soup which was delicious. I worked on three paintings this weekend. I am really happy with this bovine girl who has sort of a suspicious look on her face....what are they looking at? Have a great Monday! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Piglet Pig Animal Art

Piglet Sees The Light

10" by 10" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted.

Such a cute face!!! Makes me want to get a pig for a pet. Not really but I understand that George Clooney had one. If he came with it, I would definitely go for it. :-) For now I'll stick to painting them. I did go to a pig farm when I was twelve and visiting my uncle in England. He had a friend who owned a resturant and raised pigs on the property. It was pretty fun and I remember holding a little piglet. It was very pink and SO cute. Whenever we stopped and looked at animals of any kind....it was always the highlight of my day. Tomorrow is my day to teach. I am looking forward to seeing the ladies again. Hope you are having a great week! Click to Bid!

Charming Westie Portrait

I really am charmed by small dogs. My dog Bailee is a 13 pound ball of fur. I have painted her before and sold her portrait because she just has that cute factor. This Westie is so sweet and I really enjoyed capturing her eyes and had so much fun with all the thick curly fur Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Wite Irish Dairy Cow Art

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides which are painted making framing optional.

Hope your week is off to a great start! I had a super busy day today with renewed enthusiasm after my week away in Chincoteague. I had painted this piece before I left because I wanted to give it additional drying time. I did two today...one of a seagull inspired by all the sea gulls I saw in my visit there and another which is a White HighlandTerrier. I actually saw one in one of the shops we stopped in next to the Comfort Suites Inn and there was also an adorable Scottish Terrier. I'll have to do one of those soon. I'll be working on a pig tomorrow and whatever else crops up. We got some reference photos of a group of ducks that were intent on crossing the street back and forth bringing the traffic to a stop and seemed to take great delight in doing so! Have a great day tomorrow! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Black Irish Cow White Face

Black Irish Cow With Bright Eyes

6" by 6" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted.

It is currently on auction on eBay. I first spotted this cow when on my trip to Valentia, Ireland. She has appeared several times in my paintings and is one of my favorite bovine gals.

Thought for the Day:

We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals... In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.

Great day today. Got to sleep in a bit and have a relaxing day around the house. I already started packing for my trip to Chincoteague! Tomorrow Andrew has his first soccer game of the season. Norma Wilson Original Oil White Spotted Cow Cattle Art

White Spotted Cow In The Spotlight

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I really thought I'd be tired of painting cows by now but find myself actually enjoying it more and more and trying different ways to portray what I see and feel. I have had many favorites but this one really is very exciting to me. She is striking and rich with light and shadow. I hope you like her as much as I do! Can't believe tomorrow is yet another Friday! I do feel that I enjoy each moment of every day so it is not flying by without me but I am more aware of how short life is the older I get. Enjoy every moment of your day and weekend! Hugs, Norma Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil French Cow Cattle Art

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I thought I'd switch things up and post a French bovine lady tonight. I am happy with her and especially lover her expression and that fly away hair! Today was spent almost all day in the studio painting. My favorite kind of day. The men were busy reinstalling my bamboo floors after the leak I had the beginning of the summer. I purposely waited to have Brewsky back at school. I plan on getting some large area runs for when he is home next. Those nails are brutal on the floors! Well thanks for checking in! Click to Bid!

Chicken On The Move

8" by 10" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Well, we survived our first day of the back to school routine. Andrew and I both set our alarms on our cell phones. I didn't program my blackberry right. :-( I'll give it a try again tonight! I had a super busy day shipping paintings, sending boxes up to Sean at school, running errands, grocery shopping and whew....I crashed on the sofa to watch the television and relax a bit. Both Andrew and I have been pretty nocturnal these last few months so we both have to adapt to the new schedule. I am looking forward to a full day in the studio tomorrow so I am getting to sleep early. Hope your week is going well! Click to Bid!

Cow girl for you!

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

My son Sean called me yesterday and asked that I ship his digital camera up to him at Tech as he forgot it. He has been delivering pizzas part time and one of his "regulars' owns a farm with cows, sheep, and horses! He wants to take some pictures for me to paint so you may be seeing some home grown cows soon from the hills of Virginia!
Well, I learned more about how my blackberry works today but still can't just go to a web site on the internet! I can get my e-mail no problem but still have to conquer that mystery. I feel like a kid with a new toy. I was trying to relate how I became this hooked on technology stuff. There are plenty of artists who don't even have computers ...let alone blackberries but I think it all began at an early age, working in my basement at my sister's roll top desk with invoices from my Dad's office and play phone at my side. Several friends and I had our own "detective agency" you see. We were investigating all of the "crimes" in our neighborhood. The most intruquing being the mystery of the blood stains around the basement doors at Whitaker Mansion on the hill. Well, that's another story.... but although the crime scene investigation was pretty fun, I think my favorite part was being alone in "my office" handling all the behind the scenes work....plotting, planning, and keeping track of things. Hence, the blackberry toting artist was born!Click to Bid!
