Norma Wilson Original Oil Black Cow With White Face

Black Cow With White Face

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

This piece was started early today and was a joy to paint. I have been feeling a bit off with the holiday schedule and the new year approaching but the early start today and the relative quiet of the house made for a really great day of painting in my studio. I also posted early and was able to catch a movie with a friend. We saw Brad Pitt's new movie about Benjamin Button and I LOVED it. My son felt it was sad but my overall feeling was of inspiration, love, and hope. If you have been on the fence about seeing it...go for it and tell me what you think!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Llama Animal Portrait Art

Pretty Llama Girl!

6" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Happy Holidays! I have been taking a bit of time off to enjoy family and the festivities. I have worked on a couple of commissioned pieces but this is my first post in a week or so. Hope you had a great time over the holiday season. I can't believe it is almost the new year! It has been a good year and I have had a wonderful time with my three sons all under one roof and visiting friends and girl friends. I made two big pots of chili...one beef and one turkey. There have been a lot of football games on downstairs. I took time out to watch Mamma Mia with my son Patrick, and his girlfriend, Tessa. We might go see the new Brad Pitt movie in the next couple of days.

I will need to get lots of time in at my easel in the next week as I will be in an upcoming show at Norfolk Collegiate soon. There is also a show at the Artists Gallery called the Fabulous Forgeries that I'd love to do.....yikes. Well, thanks for checking in!

Great productive day today with a commissioned lab painting finished, paintings shipped, and this little cutie. Time to watch Eli Stone with Andrew now. Hope you have a great day! Norma Wilson Original Acrylic Pansy Floral Still Life

6" by 12" original acrylic on canvas board

Hope it was a good productive Monday for you. Mine started slowly but got in high gear and I feel good about all I accomplished. My house looks so Christmasy from the other night so that was very inspiring. I shipped out a few paintings, one to Canada so I had to go to the post office. Lots of laundry was done in between and I even made up a batch of friend chicken which pleased the teenage crowd. This painting was done a couple of weeks ago when I was teaching at Harbor's edge. I did a demonstration and had picked these flowers out of my own garden on the way out to the car. Sometimes the last minute inspirations are the most fun. I love the contrast of the colors of the vase and pansies against the neutrals of the background. Hope you like it too! Hope you are taking time to smell the roses or pansies in this case as the season gets in high gear. :-) One of my students is a master gardener and loves the smell of pansies!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Ireland's White Cow Dairy Art

White Irish Cow Portrait
12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas
Wow, another weekend of cold soccer games.....brrrrr! It was the last of the season and now indoor soccer begins with an indoor tournament next weekend! I think I will enjoy the change!
Last night I had my friends over to help me decorate and trim our tree. It is an annual tradition and that I love and now the house looks so pretty. I am really getting into the spirit of the season. Now it is time to buy some presents! I also had my handyman put the shutters back up that are freshly painted and what a transformation! Hope your weekend was fun and not too hectic. Time spent in the moment and with family and friends is really the best part of the season. Thanks for checking in with me!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Kerry Cow Portrait Art

Kerry Cow Eyes Us

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

Today I pretty much had a slow start but did get quite a bit accomplished. I rinsed off the front of the house so we can get those shutters back up. I also got a new painting finished which is always fun. I loved this cow when I saw her face as she grazed in the field. Hope you do too!
