Norma Wilson Original Oil Sheep Lamb Animal Farm Art

Little Lamb For You!

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

I loved the sweet face on this sheep and enjoyed painting it! Hope you all had a fun Halloween! I have had way too much candy! :-) It was great being down at Harbor's Edge to teach today with all the workers in costume. Andrew is too old now so went to a buddy's house to play video games! It is the end of an era. :-( There's always grandchildren! Enjoy your weekend!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Wolf Wildlife Animal Portrait

Wolf In The Night

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted making framing optional.

Today was a busy day getting organized for the week in my office. I made it through a mound of paperwork and then began work on this piece which I had so much fun painting! I am very pleased and I found myself really drawn to it as it's face reminded me so much of my dog, Keesha, who passed away last January at the age of 18. We always thought she had some wolf or coyote as we got her in Escondido out in California where the packs ran in the hills behind our house. Hope you week got off to a great start!

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Valentia Cow On Red

White Valentia Cow On Red

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

I first saw this cow in Valentia, Ireland on my artist's retreat. I have painted her before but not on the red background and I think it really showcases her strong profile. I am very pleased with it along with the color in her face. It has been a great weekend with a day spent in my front garden. My friend Lena, and I went to McDonald's nursery and picked out the shrubs and plants and spent the afternoon in the rain planting them. It was mostly a misting rain which actually was pretty good for the plants and kept things cooler for us. I ended up putting Dwarf Nandina, Knockout Roses, pansies, and rosemary in and behind an already existing row of Loriape...not sure if that is spelled correctly. We bought some bags of mulch too and it looks SO pretty. Today I added two potted plants on a pole and a garden flag.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sheep Lamb Portrait Painting

Mystical Sheep Appears

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

It has been another great week of painting, enjoying the beautiful weather, and being grateful for being so fortunate to spend my days doing what I love! I am so thankful to all of you who keep giving me a way to express myself with my paintings! I really never know how a painting will turn out. I begin with an inspiration but it really evolves to a point where it takes on a life of its own and a character.....almost like meeting a new friend! This gal sort of had a mystical feeling about her....almost an other worldly feel. Don't mind me....I am a very tired artist tonight. I just can't get over that tomorrow is Friday again. I'm so looking forward to spending the day on Saturday with my friend Lena. We are going to work in my front garden planting some new bushes and flowers....some pansies. I'd like to include some pictures some time of things other than my paintings but not sure how to do that without having them show up on the daily painters site! I'll have to check into it or perhaps do a second blog. :-( Happy Friday!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Pig Piglet Farm Animal Art

Pig Pals!

9" by 12" original oil on 3/4 inch wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I really found myself being charmed by these two. I have always loved animals but the more I paint them, the more that love affair grows. I am becoming more and more conflicted with eating meat too! Pigs really have some small eyes to paint but it is amazing how the spark of life and innocence is still able to shine through. The same applies with elephants....have you ever noticed the gentleness and sweetness that can be seen in the eye of an elephant? I'll have to paint one someday when I figure out how to do it. I mostly do small pieces for eBay...... Well, today was a great day which began with a REALLY long walk in the nice crisp air and some catching up on household chores. I am pretty tickled with tonight's piece and hope you are too! Have a great Tuesday!

Does anyone else feel like the holidays just happened??? Next weekend my good friend, Lena is coming over to help me plant some new bushes and pansies out front. Norma Wilson Original Oil Coyote Wild Animal Portrait

Fiery Coyote Sits In Wait

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

Hope your week is going well. I started mine with a long walk in surrounding neighborhoods and was gone for almost an hour. The weather is SO beautiful. This time of year is definitely my favorite! I worked quite a bit in my office on paperwork which is a necessary evil and then finally got to paint this afternoon and evening. I am really pleased with today's painting. It is my first coyote and it brought back memories of being a young Navy wife in California. We had hills that backed up to our neighborhood and used to hear the coyotes howling in the night. I think they are too afraid to come down in the day time so I never saw one. I read some facts on them and didn't realize they could mate with dogs. It also said on their front paws they had five toes! You really learn something every day! Thanks for stopping by!

6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Hope your week has been a good one. It has flown by for me and this weekend I will be attending Andrew's soccer tournament in Richmond. It will be nice to be out in the fresh air and away from paint fumes for a couple of days. Then I can't wait to get back to it! I really enjoyed painting this bluebird and the softness I was able to portray through color and edges. Thanks for checking in!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Brown And White Irish Cow Art

Brown And White Irish Cow Takes The Lead

12" by 12" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted.

As I sit here writing my blog, I am watching the Presidential debates and my head is spinning. I really can't even think of what to write other than....I wish I could vote tomorrow so SOMEBODY could get to work and stop TALKING about it! I am pleased with tonight's cow. They all have a different personality and all have been finding homes all over the country and one that sold tonight is going to England! Quite a few have gone to their homeland in Ireland and also to France and Canada. Tomorrow I am listing an animal that is endangered and I am so excited about this piece. Check back tomorrow night to see it! Have a great day tomorrow.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Horse, Mule Animal Portrait

Old Mule All Lit Up!

9" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Busy day of errands and painted much of the afternoon and evening on two new pieces. I am so happy with this mule! He was a colorful fellow which I always like to play up I think I will work on a white horse next! I understand it is supposed to cool off quite a bit with all this rain. I am looking foward to opening up the windows and sleeping snuggly under the covers again. Doesn't the time change soon? Well, I am going to try to make it an early to bed night. Hope your week is going great and thanks as always for checking in! Click to Bid!
