No painting to post tonight or the next few nights but I thought I would share another picture
of the grandpuppies. They sure had a great time racing around the backyard together. They romped and played with each holding a side of the deflated soccer ball. When they were worn out and very thirsty we got this shot! This weekend we are off to a soccer tournament for the
weekend. I will be back to posting next week. Thanks for checking in with me!

Norma Wilson Cow Art

Heifer Cow In The Light
12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.
Just chillin' in front of the t.v. after a busy day around the house. Patrick took his
giant flat screen to his new place and I am "adjusting" to my little one. I will probably be more productive without it! Hope your Tuesday was a good one!

Norma Wilson Floral Art
If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change. Buddha
6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.
One of my favorite flowers which always reminds me of a wonderful trip to the Caribbean years ago where each morning we would fine these beautiful flowers floating in water. They grow quite well here in Virginia but nothing quite matches that setting!

Grandpuppy Takes A Bath NFDP

I really had the greatest intentions of painting today but it ended up being a bit of a
vacation day and we didn't even have to leave home to find some entertainment. Jet, the youngest of the two labs in the family needed to take a bath and I found that Jet really likes taking baths...unlike his "Aunt Bailee". They both smell so good tonight and are sleeping soundly! Tomorrow will be spent in the studio catching up on some much needed painting time! Hope you week is going great!

This piece was inspired by a cow that my Sean photographed for me up in Blacksburg. He attended Virginia Tech and graduated this spring. There are many such cows in the area as well as on the campus grounds! I loved the play of light and really had fun painting it! If you are interested in more more information about this piece, e-mail me at normasart@cox.net

Pretty Bluebird

As I sit here writing my blog, mother nature is carrying on outside my window with lots of
rain and thunder and lightning. There is something kind of comforting about a summer storm
cooling the earth after a very hot and humid day. So many things change in our lives but some events like the sun rising in the morning, the moon at night, the sound of rain and thunder...ahhhh. Not sure why I am feeling all poetic about it all at the moment but alas...I am!
Have you ever imagined what life would be like without birds? I think about things like that too and I can't imagine it...they provide such color and music and so much to watch when you are out in nature or even doing the dishes in the kitchen! I sure do love to paint them! This piece is available for 125.00 with shipping and handling included!

I really like the pose on this cow and her sweet expression. The more I look at her, the more I think of how I need to get back to my pilates class! What a great stretch!
I worked all afternoon and evening on paintings that I am taking to Richmond on Thursday.
I did some more work on the owl that I posted the other day and it can be seen at
http://www.normawilsonstudios.blogspot.com at a new blog I created for such purposes. SOLD

Today I had an opportunity to meet with my friend, Roxanne, and her family who were driving home from Tallahassee to their home in Connecticut and stopped here in Virginia. We met at one of their favorite Thai restaurants near the beach and it was delicious. Roxanne and I first met at The Artist Gallery quite a few years back and became friends. We have both been on the Daily Painters together for a couple of years and you can find her work at http://www.roxannesteed.blogspot.com. She paints beautiful landscapes and florals and is doing a beautiful series of paintings of her own garden! It was so great to see her and her lovely family!
