Norma Wilson Original Oil Mule Horse Animal Painting Art

I'm All Ears!

12" by 24"

Great weekend of painting and listening to the rain. It has been so nice to have the windows open again and hear the children at play outside in our court. Today's painting is another inspired by my trip to the fair and seeing the animals brought to the fair by the local farmer. I think I was as excited as the children were to touch the animals and look them in the eye! This piece was probably be
going up to my Richmond gallery this week unless I hear from someone out in Cyberspace that wants to give it a good home. Contact me at normasart for more information!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Craft Fair

Calf Greeting

3" by 4" original oil on wrap around canvas with 1 and a half inch sides painted.

Last week I went with my friend, Kim, to the Chesapeake Heritage Arts Festival and was so excited to fine a huge part of the festival was dedicated to farm animals with a show of border collies herding sheep and many fiber artists using the wool. One of the farmers had brought this little calf with him for the day and he was happily eating some hay and stopped to let me pet him through the pen. His fur was so soft and those big eyes very sweet. He even gave us a few moos! I will be painting a few other animals in the coming days. Hope you are having a most excellent weekend. I have been having a great day painting! This painting is available for 39.95 plus shipping and handling of 4.50. You can click on the pay pal button below or contact me at normasart@cox.net to make other payment arrangements. As it is gallery wrap there in no need to frame. Comes wrapped in a clear bag with bow...ready for the holidays!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Figurative Cityscape

Cafe Friends

18" by 24" original oil on masonite board.

While settling back into my studio today I came upon this piece that I worked on while back after spending the morning with a good friend at the Starbucks here in Norfolk, Virginia on Colley Avenue. I loved how the light hit the group and how engrossed they all were in their conversations. There's nothing quite like catching up with friends on a Sunday morning over a good cup of java! As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point in the wrong direction.

Irish Saying

I have been thinking of my mother all day and how much I enjoyed seeing her. Her Irish wit and accent were stronger than ever even though she was feeling sick. Sometimes a good laugh is better than any medicine. Tonight's painting is another Irish gal who has looks like she has a bit of mischief in her eye! I could not find my regular camera charger so this was taken on my blackberry and is a bit blurry. I will try to find it tomorrow or borrow a camera for a better picture. Good to be home again! My mother gave us all a scare but was doing well and out of the hospital. It felt strange not painting or posting to my blog but now I am looking forward to getting back to work so I think it served to make me appreciate it even more! Today was a super busy day catching up around the house.so I decided to repost this little rooster that I had given a touch more color. Contact me for more information at normasart@cox.net.

Keep checking back!

Thanks for checking in....just wanted to tell my readers that I am up in Massachussets visiting with my Mom who has been ill. I am glad to be here seeing her get stronger every day. She gave us a scare! When I came back to my sister's place tonight from the hospital, I saw a skunk wadling through the back yard! A few seconds earlier and I may have been in trouble! It reminded me of years ago when we lived in Rhode Island and our dog was out back and saw a skunk. Before anyone could react to stop her, she chased after it! It was the summer and all the window were open. It actually burned the inside or our noses! I can attest to the fact that tomato juice does not help! Only time took care of it. Well, I am not sure when I am returning yet, but hope you will keep checking with me as I hope to get back to work painting very soon! Hope your labor day weekend is safe and enjoyable!
