Had a great day today in my studio organizing in the morning and then my friend and fellow artist, Adele came over to paint with me.  That always makes the day more fun when I can paint with a friend. I found this silly limerick on a site called extremely funny limericks...not sure if I'd go that far but thought it was cute.  Sometimes it is hard to know what to write about on my blog....just love painting cow faces!!!  Some days I get inspired by a new color combination or post or composition twist.  At some point in the painting process...they start to speak to me and that is pretty exciting.  It gets lonely in my studio! :-)  Have an awesome Thursday!

This piece is one that I did several months ago and has been sitting in my studio talking

to me and saying that it needed a bit more detail and color!  Today I took it down and worked on it a

I just loved the colors of this crab and went to town with that palette knife! I did this piece in two stages. Most days I finish a painting all in one day but recently I have been working back and forth a bit more and seem to be busier than ever. I have many fond memories from my college years and when I lived in Baltimore and would spend my weekends down at the Naval Academy. A bunch of friends and I would head over to the local seafood place where we would order dozens of crabs and beer and sit for hours eating and talking and having a wonderful time. My mouth is actually watering as I write this. I have had crab quite a few times since then but somehow the experience has not been quite the same. I don't know if you have to be in Maryland or just in your twenties but it sure was awesome!

Today was the first day I have gotten back into my studio since my Mom passed away.  I shipped a painting to a client and got some pieces photographed.  I appreciate all of the condolences I received  from my readers and fellow artists.
