One of my favorite subjects to paint are commissioned pet portraits. It took me until
age 14 to wear my Mom down and allow me to have a dog and as soon as I was off on my own, I have always had a dog and for many years had two dogs and a cat. They have always been members of our family and bring so much fun, laughter and comfort. So, for me, painting pets, allows me to, in a way get to know more animals and in the process, they come to life for me. It pleases me so much when an owner responds with delight and feel that I have captured the spirit of their precious pet.
