Irish Granny Cow

The love affair with cows continues! It all began with a trip to Ireland last year....my mother's homeland and a wonderful place for an artists retreat. While everyone else was painting the gorgeous landscape in all its green glory....I was photographing cows. They are enormous in Ireland and have such soulful Celtic faces! I began painting them as close up portraits when I returned and found that I was not alone in my love of cows! It has been a pleasure to do and to find such a receptive audience and so many wonderful homes for them. After the initial group was all painted, I began importing more faces from my friend who hosted the retreat and who lives part of the year in Ireland in her beautiful house on the hill in Valentia.

Today's post is a 12 by 12 original oil of an Irish Granny Cow on gallery wrapped canvas that is 3/4 inch thick with sides painted. It is currently on auction on eBay. Just click on my eBay store link to bid on this piece! Thank you for stopping by!
