Painting Challenge.. .#1 Paint A Group Of "Boring" Objects

Someone reading the title and looking at this painting might not get the connection but today I began my New Year's challenge to stretch my painting skills and try out new subjects.  I wanted to quit about half way through so it is good I had put it out there that I was doing it! It was kind of painful but I am glad I did because after wards I couldn't wait to work on a rooster! :-)  I think I missed color in this the most. I actually do like my cell phone especially since I got a replacement and discovered that hanging up on everyone was not user related but a defect of the phone!  Texting is much easier now.  Anyway, I included it because a black oblong object was kinda boring.  It was a good lesson in seeing and any time you work from life instead of a photograph it is more challenging.  I will be posting my rooster tomorrow and will work on challenge #2 for Monday's post which is to Paint Something You See Everyday!
