I really had such a productive day yesterday working on several paintings but I think this gal was my favorite. Such a proud face! It is so much fun being an artist because you never quite know what it going to happen when you put brush to canvas and begin to create a rapport with your subject. In the beginning it is pretty technical and formulaic but quickly after the initial lay in the wonderful dance begins. It is hard to describe but it is pretty terrific. Occasionally the dance is kind of rough and there is more stepping on each other feet happening but for the most part, even those times usually resolve happily if you take time to breathe and back up a bit.
