New Paints and Brushes

Well my efforts to have a painting to post while away stalled a bit today as I had to do a wee bit
of shopping for more needed supplies. I found out that I couldn't travel on the plane with
oil paints and decided to purchase some here and discovered a wonderful brand called M. Graham. Apparently you can take this paint with you on the plane because the toxic stuff is not used. It has
walnut oil at its base and no solvents. They even found a way to make the cadmium reds non-toxic!
I am excited to try it as I had heard of it a long time ago and found it very intriguing. The artist
who has the local shop here said she doesn't even varnish her paintings as the sheen stays nice
and even on her paintings. That is very appealing because of safety issues of always inhaling the
spray varnish. I will keep you posted on how I like it and you will see my first painting using the new paints tomorrow night. It has been very inspirational looking at the local galleries and experiencing the sights and sounds of a new place. This Friday I am going to go to the shop where I purchased the paints and sit in with a group and paint together here. I am really looking forward to it. Have a great Tuesday and thanks for checking in with me!

M. Graham makes some great products - glad you found them. They also make a superior "Walnut Alkyd Medium"- way better than Liquin, as it doesn't dry up in the bottle. I don't use this additional mediums very often, but when I do, this is the only one!
