Black Labrador Face to Face

10" by 10" on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I painted this piece using my favorite model, my grandpuppy, Brewsky. I love this pose as I know he is using every bit of restraint to hold himself in check....usually for a treat such as a bone or tomato...or an orange! The tail is moving ever so slightly and every now and then, he gives a muffled squirmy squeal. He also looks like this right before he is about to shower you with more love and affection than you every imagined! His sheer joy and enthusiam for being alive is pretty contagious and he keeps us all in stitches. Yesterday it was 5:00 and his internal clock was going off....Dinner Time!!!! There was NO controlling him. He was racing around the house, up on my son's bed and jumping in the air like a pole vaulter onto his couch and back and clumsily onto the floor over and over. Come to think of it, if I did this before my meals, I'd never gain an ounce! :-)

I just know someone will see this painting and think it looks just like their black lab. He is classicaly handsome and looks like he just stepped off the cover of Field and Stream magazine! Spoken like a true grandmother! Have a great day!

If you are interested in this piece or commissioning one of your pet, contact me at normasart@cox.net. I will probably post to eBay in the next few days.

What a sweet little face. Love the use of blue to high light him. Pat
