     I think there is noting prettier than a red bird.  This one reminds me of birds I saw in Puerto Vallarta that were along perches outside for all to admire.  Hope your week is going well!   I will be working on several birds in the next few days as I prepare for the Virginia Beach Garden Show display next week.  It is really hot in the house today and I am putting the air conditioning on for the first time this year.  My car was covered in pollen today and all the trees are in full bloom.  We sure go from winter to summery weather pretty fast in these parts!

Today's post if a painting that I have shown before but last night as I was

working in my studio, I saw it and decided to put it on here again.  It is one of my favorite flowers and one of my favorite paintings.  I really enjoyed painting the many folds of the iris and the combination of brush and palette knife.  I had also gotten a new color that I used in the background.  It is sort of a grayed out green that makes the flower pop. Norma Wilson Original Oil Rooster Stands Tall Painting

Tonight's Rooster is a a new size for me. I picked up some 6" by 12" canvases today thinking about doing a couple of landscapes but when I looked at them tonight, I saw roosters. Roosters are so colorful and fun to paint. They always lighten my mood and make me smile. It is painted on wrap around canvas with sides painted making framing optional. Till tomorrow....

Today's post is another in my new bird series. I love the colors of this bird and its strong contrasts. Today was a busy day working on taxes as the year draws to a close. I am trying to get a head start on gathering all of my information for my business this past year. Hope your holidays are going well. I have been enjoying all the fun around the house. My son got a George Foreman Grill for Christmas and we have been enjoying some delicous dinners with meat from Omaha Steaks. Tonight I marinated some chicken breasts and was saving some on the counter for my son to come home from playing indoor soccer. When he returned we discovered that his black lab, Brewsky, had eaten it....as well as the cat's dinner! He is sleeping well now. Sean had ramen soup. The cat is not happy.
