Norma Wilson Original Oil Irish Dairy Cow Farm Animals In Oil Painting Art

Far And Away Home

© Norma Wilson, original oil on canvas 6" by 6"

SOLD

Standing by the bonfire with fellow artists in Ireland going on ten years ago now, I became enamored with the curious white cow in the next field. It was almost eleven at night and the sun was just going down lighting her up and she seemed so curious at what these crazy humans were doing? We all decided to go into my friend's studio and I painted my first cow. I have painted more than I can count since then. The infatuation continues! Hope your week is off to a great to a great start. Do you have any fond memories of cows?

Dairy Girl

Dairy Girl
12" by 12" original oil on 3/4 inch canvas with sides painted

325.

SOLD

Day two of the 30 day challenge....just kidding.  I seemed to have misplaced a couple of weeks!  I have decided to skip this group challenge and set up my own in the near future.  In the meantime, I have been painting up a storm.  Some paintings are lesson plans for my class at Michael's and those paintings are not for sale.  Another group of large paintings are for my show in November at the Barnes winery in Hamilton, Virginia.  It is scheduled for the 23rd and will be a show dedicated to my paintings!  I am really excited about it and will be posting more information in the coming weeks.  This is my all time favorite cow to paint.  She helped inspire my journey of painting cows and her curiosity that brought her to the fence on the night we all were standing around the bonfire, toasting one another in Valentia, Ireland, and  planning out our late night painting session in Barbara's studio.  She wanted to see what those crazy artists were up to on a summer night where the sun doesn't set until near 11 o'clock.  I like the white of her fur reflected all the colors of twilight.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Gosport White Cow Art

Tonight's post is a 20" by 20" original that I painted yesterday at my Gosport demonstration. I really enjoyed working outside next to the harbor with the breeze blowing and the sound of the boats bobbing up and down and the ferry coming back and forth from Norfolk. The wind got pretty hard close to the end of the day and some smaller paintings fell off the display racks. That's when I knew it was time to clean up. I liked this cow as she looks like she is not really a baby calf but not quite an "adult" yet. I like her expression and I kept the background red and I usually begin my paintings on a red background.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there and hope you have a fantastic week!

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Irish Kerry Cow Art

14" by 18" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted. This piece was just listed on eBay. I had a great painting day today in my home studio. Andrew had a soccer game tonight too. They lost but it was a beautiful day and such fun to sit out in the evening breeze and be a part of the gathering. I felt very grateful for all my boys and all the fun I have had watching them play soccer. Hope you week is going well. I will be busy painting again tomorrow during the day and also getting ready for Sean and Brewsky coming home for the summer. I have to batton down all the hatches as my grandpuppy is quite a character. He is full of endless energy and loves to give very sloppy kisses. Nite.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Cow Lit In Snow Cattle Art

20" by 20" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Hope all is going well with you now that we are a week into the New Year. It has taken awhile to get my focus back in my studio now that the holidays are over. My son is still home with is black lab, Brewsky. Today began with him breaking out of our yard and taking an unauthorized swim in the lake behind the house. It did feel like summer time today! I think he rolled in a couple of dead fish first so that made it necessary for my son and I to give him his first bath. All 70 plus pounds of him wrestling Sean in the bathtub while I tried to get some waterh and soap on him was quite a sight. They are leaving this Friday....back to college life and hopefully I will keep myself busy painting! I know I will miss them as soon as they leave. I am excited about tonight's post. The contrast of the light and dark with colorful highlights are very pleasing to me. Hope you like it too! Click to Bid!
