Splendor In The Grass

 Splendor In The Grass  SOLD

5" by 7" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

  • This cow just struck me as not having a care in the world. I enjoyed painting a cow in relaxed post for a change.  I did her in two stages, blocking in the main shapes and background and today going in and adding the texture and details.  I enjoy working this way sometimes rather than finishing it all in one sitting.  Some larger pieces like an Irish cottage scene that I am going on commission, I spend quite a bit of time and in many sessions to slowly develop the details.
  • Thank you to a reader named Jerry whose suggestion for yesterday's shrimp boat painting was drawn out of all that were sent in to me.  I appreciate all the help from all of you!
  • Sometimes I get stumped about what to paint next, so if anyone, has an idea for me about an animal, bird, flower, place, for me to paint....please send me your idea.  If you have a photograph...that is even better.  The group Artists Helping Artists run by Leslie Saeta, and Dreama Tolle Perry have give us artists a challenge of something to paint and post on September 1st that has something to do with the month of September...any ideas on that one?
  • Hope you have a fabulous Sunday!  Keep smiling and thank you for checking in with me!!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Brown And White Irish Cow Art

Brown And White Irish Cow Takes The Lead

12" by 12" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with sides painted.

As I sit here writing my blog, I am watching the Presidential debates and my head is spinning. I really can't even think of what to write other than....I wish I could vote tomorrow so SOMEBODY could get to work and stop TALKING about it! I am pleased with tonight's cow. They all have a different personality and all have been finding homes all over the country and one that sold tonight is going to England! Quite a few have gone to their homeland in Ireland and also to France and Canada. Tomorrow I am listing an animal that is endangered and I am so excited about this piece. Check back tomorrow night to see it! Have a great day tomorrow.

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Irish Kerry Cow Art

14" by 18" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted. This piece was just listed on eBay. I had a great painting day today in my home studio. Andrew had a soccer game tonight too. They lost but it was a beautiful day and such fun to sit out in the evening breeze and be a part of the gathering. I felt very grateful for all my boys and all the fun I have had watching them play soccer. Hope you week is going well. I will be busy painting again tomorrow during the day and also getting ready for Sean and Brewsky coming home for the summer. I have to batton down all the hatches as my grandpuppy is quite a character. He is full of endless energy and loves to give very sloppy kisses. Nite.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Kerry Cow Art 2

Today was a day that felt too short for all the things that I wanted to accomplish! I did get the dogs to the vet for their yearly shots, heartworm, worm check, and on and on. It feels good to have them updated....think I need to get pet insurance though! Good news is they are doing great. I didn't get to that paperwork that needs my attention but I was able to complete this painting which I am really pleased with. I am loving the blue background for the white cows. Hope you do too! Have a great day and stay happy! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Kerry Cow Painting Art

Today's post is of one of my favorite Irish Cows that I first saw in Kerry. It is a 12 by 12 on wrap around 3/4 inch sides which are painted making framing optional. It is currently on auction on eBay. Hope you are all having a great weekend! I saw my son off to college with his puppy, Brewsky today. The house seems empty tonight. The other dogs disagree. They are enjoying the peace and quiet and not having their tails bitten! Tomorrow will be a busy day of straightening house and lots of painting. I have two commissions to complete and a new one to paint for eBay. Life is good! Take care and remember to laugh! Click to Bid!

Irish Cow Cattle Animal 2

Today's post is another one of my favorite white Irish Cows. This one is also 16 by 20 which is a different format that I am trying. It would make a nice companion piece to the other white cow which has a couple of days to go on auction on eBay. This one listed this evening. Hope you all had a nice day on the 4th of July. It was a lovely day here....today was much hotter and stickier. There were oodles of fireworks around here. They can be purchased legally over the border in North Carolina! Have a great day and thanks as always for checkin in!

Cow on Blue Background

Today's post is a 12 by 12 original oil on blue acrylic background. I have sold quite a few of these cows done on a solid blue acrylic background. The cow is done in a very thick painterly oil and makes for a nice contrast. It is on wrap around canvas with sides painted so framing is optional. It is currently on auction on eBay. I am excited to have my cousin Pauline visiting from Ireland. We just had dinner together along with my sister who brought her down from Massachussets where she lives. We are headed to the beach tomorrow after I spend the morning shipping paintings and working on a couple of pieces in my studio. I have a large floral which is a close up of pansies and another of gladiolas that will probably be on the agenda. It has been fun seeing so many paintings on the daily painters site. Our challenge for June has been very inspirational and we also have some new painters who have joined us. Hope you have a great day.
