"Dachshaund"

© Norma Wilson, original oil on canvas 12"by 12"

This little fella is quite dramatic striking a post in the sunlight. He looks quite handsome and I bet he is equally charming! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend! I just picked up some takeout Italian and guess what I am going to do? Well, I thought I would paint! Only six more days for the challenge so if you haven't sent me a photo of your special friend, now is the time to do it. I have two ready to go already but four more spots. :-)

Painting #9 Thirty Dogs And A Cat In Thirty Days Challenge "Aussie"

"Aussie"

© Norma Wilson, original oil on canvas 12"by 12"

400.

This Aussie reminds me of my friend's dog who was the most well behaved dog I have ever met and she was SO smart. Every day she would go out and fetch the paper and bring it in with her little tail wagging and so happy to do her job. This breed is well behaved, loving, and great family dogs. I loved painting all that beautiful long hair!

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! #13

Pinky

5" by 7" original oil on canvas

SOLD

Almost half way through this challenge.  It has been keeping me busy for sure.  I worked in my studio all weekend as I won't be able to paint the next couple of weekends.  I watched a couple of old movies and the paint was flying.  I really love the color combination on this and how continent she seems!  Hope you have a fantastic Monday!

#124 Starlit Bovine

#124 Starlit Bovine

5" by 5" original oil on panel

SOLD

After scraping a horse off tonight, I decided to just play with color and one of my favorite subjects and I love her.  I feel like she rescued mefrom my anxiety of getting ready for my workshop, thinking about the laundry and all the preparation.  I may do more colorful cows in the coming days.  I find them very calming!  Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Common Yellow Throat
6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.
$125

Well, the weather this weekend was spectacular and I saw bulbs sprouting in the neighbors yard.  Spring is right around the corner.  My kitty cat, Rusty, is sitting in my lap as I type.  She is doing so much better.  I spent quite a bit of time on the computer this weekend making changes to my web site and blog.  I welcome any feedback.  Hope you have a great start to your week! Thanks for checking in.

Rooster Head

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

This piece was done as a commission for a client in Canada and it was the first rooster head I ever did this size and am really tickled with it. I have not painted as much as usual this week as I am working quite a bit on the home front. I decided to clean the carpets myself using a dry system and it feels great but I feel like I ran a marathon...or the closest I will ever get to that! :-) Once, I started that...everything else called to me to clean and paperwork to plow through and boxes in the garage to break down and changing things around in my studio....zzzzzzzz Well, tomorrow is another day and more to do...there never seems to be an end to that to do list...is there??? In the next weeks I plan to work on a newsletter and some prints! If you are in Richmond...check out Gallery 5800!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Cat In Garden Kitty Art

Spinning A Yarn!

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted

This kitty sure looked like he was having fun while out in the garden. I love to watch animals playing so intensely and truly enjoying the moment! We humans could use more playful moments that keep us grounded in the here and now. That is what painting does for me....time ceases to exist and all seems well in the world! Hope you enjoy this painting. Have a great weekend! This painting is
available for 229.00 with shipping and handling included in the purchase price!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sheep Lamb Pastoral Landscape

Mother And Child

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

What a busy day! I began the day with a walk and then put a delicious dinner in the crockpot

that was chicken with cranberries, orange, cinnamon, and chile sauce. I am loving my new crockpot and can't think it is great but smelling all that great food when you are HOME is tough. I actually broke down and had some for an afternoon snack too. I almost finished two paintings. I will be posting a little wren tomorrow night. Then, I had my hair cut and painted some more. Here it is at 10:00 and I am watching Anderson Cooper while I listed and write this blog. Wish I had a little helper to clean my brushes. Some people find it relaxing after a long day to clean brushes. I have tried freezing them, covering them in saran wrap, and just plain ignoring them. That is not the best option. Well, hope your week has been a good one and that you have someting fun to do over the weekend. I really enjoyed working on this mother sheep and her baby. I have three wonderful "babies"....the youngest will leave the nest next year and some of my best memories were having them huddle close to me sharing life and nature. It just brings a smile to my face!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Red Fox Animal Portrait Art

FOXY LADY!

10" by 10" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Wow, I love this foxes eyes! We have a fox in our neighborhood that I see sometimes when Bailee and I go for a walk. It is always at night and I don't get to see her eyes. She is usually running pretty fast in the other direction. Bailee is pretty small but kind of scarey! :-) Well, I am finally feeling like I am in the swing of things again. After two years as a daily painter, I think I kind of had a melt down of motivation and ideas. Hope your week is going well and thanks so much for checking in with me!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Rabbit Bunny Animal Painting

Bunny Steps Out Of The Shadows

9" by 12" original oil on masonite board.

Well, I am back after taking a couple of days holiday to celebrate Thanksgiving with my boys. I spent a few days before they came home painting the house. I painted the door red, trim a nice taupe and light gray on my shutters. Dinner yesterday was great. It was very casual as it was just my three boys and me. Today was back to work shipping paintings and working on this new piece. I have a big pot of turkey soup cooking and we just polished off a batch of peanut butter and chocolate brownies. Guess I'd better take some long walks this week! Hope your holid has been relaxing so far and that you enjoy the weekend.
