As stressful as this challenge can be, I am truly enjoying spending time on a regular basis in my studio.  I have decided in February to make a challenge to myself to spend a minimum of two hours in my studio painting five days a week.  Out of that, I want to complete a minimum of one large painting.  It is time to build a body of work that is large and that I can get out into a public space and then happy collector's homes! It was so good to be back to painting today and I am slowly getting back into the swing of things after a wonderful trip to Hawaii for my nephew's wedding.  We celebrated this wonderful occasion together with family and friends on Waikiki beach!  I am sure that some palm trees and blue green water will find there way into my paintings but I did get some photos of some Hawaiian roosters!   Here are a few of my favorite scenes!

Well today is a perfect day to post this little guy as the temperature outside rose into the 70's today and I saw my first signs of spring with my neighbor's daffodils poked up through the ground.  Hard to believe they were covered with snow a few days ago.  Hope you have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Rooster Head

This piece was done as a commission for a client in Canada and it was the first rooster head I ever did this size and am really tickled with it. I have not painted as much as usual this week as I am working quite a bit on the home front. I decided to clean the carpets myself using a dry system and it feels great but I feel like I ran a marathon...or the closest I will ever get to that! :-) Once, I started that...everything else called to me to clean and paperwork to plow through and boxes in the garage to break down and changing things around in my studio....zzzzzzzz Well, tomorrow is another day and more to do...there never seems to be an end to that to do list...is there??? In the next weeks I plan to work on a newsletter and some prints! If you are in Richmond...check out Gallery 5800!

Hello Again!

What a hot day it was today! I may have to start painting all night and sleep during the day. My air conditioner just isn't cutting it! I did manage to make it to my favorite art store...Jerry's Artarama and then worked on a pear painting, a small chocolate lab on gessoed mat board.....for a change and now I am about to begin a large rose.
