As stressful as this challenge can be, I am truly enjoying spending time on a regular basis in my studio.  I have decided in February to make a challenge to myself to spend a minimum of two hours in my studio painting five days a week.  Out of that, I want to complete a minimum of one large painting.  It is time to build a body of work that is large and that I can get out into a public space and then happy collector's homes! This fellow is unbound and ready for his day in all its glory!  I decided to start off the month by joining Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge and this guy is happy to be first!  I have been painting up a storm getting ready for a show at the winery in Hamilton, Virginia.  The date is still to be determined but I have been painting some larger pieces and have been loving it.  So the plan it to post every day for the month of September and hope you will follow along with me.  You never know where it will lead!

It was so good to be back to painting today and I am slowly getting back into the swing of things after a wonderful trip to Hawaii for my nephew's wedding.  We celebrated this wonderful occasion together with family and friends on Waikiki beach!  I am sure that some palm trees and blue green water will find there way into my paintings but I did get some photos of some Hawaiian roosters!   Here are a few of my favorite scenes!

On The Road Again!

Good to be home again! My mother gave us all a scare but was doing well and out of the hospital. It felt strange not painting or posting to my blog but now I am looking forward to getting back to work so I think it served to make me appreciate it even more! Hope your week is off to a great start. Andrew had off of school today and I was out running errands. I am going to paint my front door, shutters and trim this weekend and had to choose some colors. I went to see the gal who helped me do my family room and we picked two fun colors. One is a brick red for the shutters with kind of a rosy tinge and golden yellow for the front door. I never would have chosen it on my own but apparently it is very vogue these days and is reccomended for people who want to sell their homes. I have golden yellow on my walls and lots of red accents in pillows and area rugs so it should flow nicely. Now I just need to get busy. I also got an area rug for my dining room so it will look nice for the holiday and will protect the floors from Brewsky when he and Sean come home from college. Well, I am going to go to bed early so I will be ready to vote tomorrow! Have a good one!

What a great weekend with Patrick here for a visit. He spent a lot of time in my studio with me visiting and catching up. I am so looking forward to the holidays and having all three of them home with me. Bailee and Rusty....out furry friends are so excited to have them home too. Does anyone else feel like the holidays just happened??? Next weekend my good friend, Lena is coming over to help me plant some new bushes and pansies out front. I finally broke down and got a lawn service so I have some new grass growing and nice edging. Hope your weekend has been a good one. Thanks for all the wonderful e-mails and to all my new collectors! Great day today. Got to sleep in a bit and have a relaxing day around the house. I already started packing for my trip to Chincoteague! Tomorrow Andrew has his first soccer game of the season. He joined a select traveling team this year. This game is pretty close to home but next week is in Smithfield. I also completed two new pieces. I just listed this one awhile ago. Enjoy the weekend!
