Rooster Gump Unleashed
10" by 20" original oil on canvas

Available Through Stravitz Gallery

This fellow is unbound and ready for his day in all its glory!  I decided to start off the month by joining Leslie Saeta's 30 in 30 challenge and this guy is happy to be first!  I have been painting up a storm getting ready for a show at the winery in Hamilton, Virginia.  The date is still to be determined but I have been painting some larger pieces and have been loving it.  So the plan it to post every day for the month of September and hope you will follow along with me.  You never know where it will lead!

Name This Rooster! Please!

Name This Rooster...Please!
12" by 12" original oil on panel
$295.

Sometimes I just draw a blank when it comes to naming a painting.  Tonight is one of those times. I have definitely been into dramatic lighting lately.  Had fun with this little guy.  I am plum wore out tonight.  My son came to help me with my kitchen today.  He put my new pulls on my cabinets while I painted and also
put on new door handles that I had gotten online.  They are so much cheaper than at the local hardware stores that will remain nameless...HD and L are a clue.  I am really pleased with what I have done so far.
I didn't think to take a before picture but may have some in my photo files.  I may write more tomorrow but for tonight..I will just say...sleep well.  I know I will.  Thank you to Patrick for all his wonderful help today!

Rooster In The Spotlight

 Rooster In The Spotlight
9" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

It has been said that art is a tryst, for in the joy of it maker and beholder meet.  ~Kojiro Tomita

Spent the morning updating my available paintings on my blog and looking at the most beautiful view of the water here in South Carolina.  The marshy grass and winding waterways are breathtaking.  I will have to get some photographs so I can paint it when I return home to Virginia.
For more information on how to purchase this painting, please contact me at normasart@cox.net.

Good to be home again! My mother gave us all a scare but was doing well and out of the hospital. It felt strange not painting or posting to my blog but now I am looking forward to getting back to work so I think it served to make me appreciate it even more! Today was a super busy day catching up around the house.so I decided to repost this little rooster that I had given a touch more color. Contact me for more information at normasart@cox.net.

Rooster Head

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

This piece was done as a commission for a client in Canada and it was the first rooster head I ever did this size and am really tickled with it. I have not painted as much as usual this week as I am working quite a bit on the home front. I decided to clean the carpets myself using a dry system and it feels great but I feel like I ran a marathon...or the closest I will ever get to that! :-) Once, I started that...everything else called to me to clean and paperwork to plow through and boxes in the garage to break down and changing things around in my studio....zzzzzzzz Well, tomorrow is another day and more to do...there never seems to be an end to that to do list...is there??? In the next weeks I plan to work on a newsletter and some prints! If you are in Richmond...check out Gallery 5800!

Rooster At The Ready

Great day today. Got to sleep in a bit and have a relaxing day around the house. I already started packing for my trip to Chincoteague! Tomorrow Andrew has his first soccer game of the season. He joined a select traveling team this year. This game is pretty close to home but next week is in Smithfield. I also completed two new pieces. I just listed this one awhile ago. Enjoy the weekend!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Red Speckled Rooster

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

This painting just shouts....rise and shine! I loved the colors of this rooster and all its colorful markings. It was a pleasure to paint and it makes me smile!

Brewsky, my grandpuppy, jumped up on me as I as working on my blog last night to give me a hug and I am now missing my H on my keyboard. Well, I have it....it's just no longer attached. :-0 In spite of all the chewed, broken, and missing food from this summer, I will miss him terribly when he and Sean go back to college. The leave on Tuesday next week. Bailee will miss him too. They have spent a lot of time wrestling with each other and just 'hangin out". It has been a busy week and tomorrow is my day to teach down at Harbor's Edge. I am going to make an omlet in the morning on my new GT Express that my Mom got me from an infomercial she was watching. She knows whatever I cook has to be quick AND easy. Well, take care and have an awesome Friday! It's the weekend!!!! Click to Bid!

8" by 10" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted. It is currently on auction on ebay.

Today was a busy day in my office getting my "in" box cleared and paying bills. Sean started working at the Olive Garden today and the house was quiet with Brewsky and Bailee napping and "playing" intermittently. All in all, a great day and this evening I have been painting in my studio and preparing surfaces for future paintings. Tomorrow I am planning on being at my place in Portsmouth working on a large cow. This weekend is First Friday in Portsmouth http://www.portsmouthva.gov/calendar/longlist3.asp.
