Out Of The Shadows!

Out Of The Shadows
$295.

It was a real fiasco tonight as I was getting ready to photograph this painting and get it posted.  I had it on the table easel in the kitchen ready to photograph when the cat, Rusty, jumped up to get away from the dog, Bailee.
I tried to move her aside so I could get a shot and because her tail was VERY close to the wet paint.  Next thing I knew she had  her claw in my neck and was leaping off the table as the easel came crashing to the floor and landed on top of the painting.  After taking a few deep breaths, I returned to my studio to do the necessary repairs.  Now she, Rusty, is innocently perched on my arm as I type.  KIDS...what can you do?  Hope I don't get cat scratch fever.
As far as the kitchen goes...I have switched back and forth between a warm gray to kilm beige...to a buttery yellow..to...help!  I was so used to my colorful leaf pattern that I am afraid my all white kitchen will be too bland.  I love white kitchens but a feeling of warmth too.
I guess I just need more information...like an inspiring area rug or tea towels. Have an awesome Thursday!

Black Angus

SOLD

Black Angus
 $125

6" by 6" original oil on archival board

How was your weekend?  I worked quite a bit but did manage to take in a movie and had dinner with a friend.  . I also got out on my bike after a long hiatus.  The tires were kind of flat and I couldn't find my bicycle pump! I spent oodles of hours working on my web sites Only a couple more links and pages and I will start work on my newsletter as it is almost March!  My kitty is in my lap again and insists on laying on my arm while I am typing.  I really had a good time working on this Angus. It is so much fun to play with colors on the
dark fur. I guess a cow's hair could be called fur...  I tried something different than my usual toning the canvas with red.  I began with a hot pink color and then accented the same! I like how the bits of pink shows through in places.  It will be a busy week getting ready for the upcoming show at the Artists Gallery... It's Raining Cats and Dogs.  I will be entering several pieces and the opening is this Friday.  Hope you can make it if you live locally.  Have a great Monday!

The Gift Of Art From The Heart

Photobucket

The Hunt For Red...In My Paintings

Actually that was not too difficult as red is one of my favorite colors and shows up pretty frequently in my work.  I had fun creating this collage to showcase some possibilities.  They are all 6" by 6" and can come framed or unframed.  The frames available are gold or black. Each piece is painted on the sides and can be displayed without a frame as well on a wall or set on an easel.  Gift wrapping is available and free shipping too!  What more perfect gift than to give a unique piece of original art to someone special! Contact me at normasart@cox.net for more details!

Still Beautiful At Ninety

Still Beautiful at Ninety
12 by 12 original oil
I have been working on this portrait of someone special in my family who has a beautiful spirit and kind gentle way about her.  This is still a work in progress but I wanted to post and let you know that I am working on the details of my challenges for the New Year.  Yes....I did say challenges.  I have wanted for a long time to do a series of beautiful women of mature years...anyone over forty who has lived some life and experienced both joy and loss and some time on this earth well lived.  When I finish this piece I will share more about this special lady and about the details of my challenge.  My other focus involves animals and I will begin that soon.  I need your help though...in the form of references...beautiful ladies that you will allow me to paint.  I will be doing them in a 6" by 6" format so I can complete one in a day....or two depending on the day!  I have some faces to begin with but if you would like to send me a picture, e-mail me at normasart@cox.net.  Thank you!  Welcome to my new subscribers and followers!  I love sharing this journey with my fellow artists and readers. I am excited to get the first picture to paint...a little nervous too but I will power through it....:-)
