Purchase Information

Oh boy, I am feeling the burn of this thirty in thirty marathon!  Partly because I have a week coming up that I won't be able to paint so I am trying to get those paintings completed as well.  I had some fun tonight doing something that I have wanted to try with my leftover paint on my palette.  I will
try again tomorrow and share them with you next week.  TGIF!

I have been very fortunate to paint many treasured pets over the years for clients who
want to honor their furry friends in a painting.  This fellow was commissioned by a lady
for her "grand puppy".  I think he is quite handsome!  If you would like more information

Some of my fondest memories in my life are of time spent in Ireland, my mother's birthplace.  I enjoyed painting this road and imagine myself on a day's venture off to photograph some cows or sheep!  More paintings to paint at every turn. :-)

Often, I am drawn to dramatic light contrasts and loved this gull's proud looking
stance.  I am pleased with painting and the soft colors seen in the shadows.  Hope you are having a wonderful day!  So happy you stopped by.

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! - Day Twenty Six

Marsh Wren

6" by 6" original oil on panel

150.

I began this painting with a wash of red paint in acrylic.  After it dried, I went to work with oils focusing on the darks and creating a strong contrast between the background and the subject's values.  I had so much fun.  I just love painting light!  I also focused on using colorful grays for relief to the brighter colors.  I do love birds!  Have you ever seen one of these birds perched out in the marsh?

One of my favorite memories of my children growing up is watching them play at the beach!  I still love to walk along the beach in summer and see families relaxing and spending time together soaking all the sights and sounds and the wonderful sea breeze!  This little girls seemed to be expressing her glee with her hands outstretched while her brother is busy at work. :-)  It was great fun to capture this in paint!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Barney Steps Out Of The Shadows!

11" by 14" original oil on canvas

I painted Barney in a class as a demo.  I think he has a bit of a Halloween thing going sneaking out of the shadows like he is.  He was fun to paint.  The class enjoyed painting pigs and like always. they each come out looking a little different and unique.  Hope your day is a great one!  Thanks for following me on my thirty day challenge.  I will still be painting often and will try to keep painting some new subjects like more people.  If you have any pictures you would like to see me paint, write to me at normasfineart@gmail.com.

House Sparrow

4" by 4" original oil on canvas

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment, while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance that I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.  ~Henry David Thoreau

So happy to be spending so much time in my studio doing what I love!  Hope you have a great weekend and I am so happy you stopped by!

Red Velvet

As an artist, I not only see delicious food, but sometimes I see a painting and grab my camera!  I really had fun with this one but I have to admit that every time I look at it now...it makes me hungry! Do you have someone special who loves cupcakes?  It is the gift that keeps on giving!

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! #22

Chewy

6" by 6" original oil on canvas

150.

This sweet little girl was surrendered at a vet's office by an owner who no longer wanted her and one of the employees fell instantly in love with her and welcomed her with open arms.  She spent many years coming to work every day and sleeping cozily curled around her "Mom's" back while she worked.  I just loved her little face and had a great time capturing it in oil.

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! #8

Bailee Girl

4" by 4" original oil on canvas

This is my little dog, Bailee, who is my dear little companion and is twelve years old.  She does not do well with change and really was in a tizzy after my last move in December.  After about six months of stalking me every time I made a move  and crying and scratching at the door when I went out, she has finally settled in and actually loves her new life in the city.  So many runners to bark at and so many smells!  People smile when they see her and call out from there cars, and say, "Hi Benji!"  I love coming home to her every day! Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! #7

Wee Splasher!

5" by 7" original oil on canvas with sides painted.

SOLD

I first saw this little girl splashing in the fountain in Savannah years ago.  I have thought about painting her many times since then but it was not until I took on this challenge that it felt like the time was right and I am so happy that I did.  I was able to relive that joy that I felt initially seeing her enjoying the magic of water on a hot summer day!
