Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! - Day Fifteen

Momma Bear

24" by 30" gallery wrap

1875.

For me, this was a large painting and I began it in class this evening as a demonstration and was able to finish it in time to get it posted tonight.  I loved every minute of painting it and can't wait to paint more larger pieces.  It will be going to one of my galleries in the coming weeks unless you must have it!  Just don't wait because they are wanting some larger works from me.  Hope your week is going great!  I will take a better picture of this tomorrow in daylight and there shouldn't be as much glare on it.  Several of my smaller works from this challenge are going into a show and I will be dropping them off tomorrow.  What a busy week but as stressful as this can be at times...I am getting some painting done!  That's for sure.

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! - Day Thirteen

Big Bear!

6" by 6" original oil on panel

150.

I am never quite sure what the next day will bring.  I teach all day tomorrow so I may be doing a baseball card size painting tomorrow...perhaps a cow!  This can get pretty intense when you don't paint more than one on quite a few days.  But it is good discipline!  I even worked out which is my other discipline that I am developing.  Thanks so much for checking with me!  Have a great day!

#130 Cary Cow

#130  Cary Cow
12" by 12" original oil on canvas with sides painted
350.

One day while I was away, Susan and I saw this cow grazing at a farm on the way to her studio.  She pulled over so I could get a picture and the light on her was just beautiful in the late day sun.  She stopped eating long enough to pose for me and I love how the transparent oil colors helped me capture that glow.  Today was a fun day with Andrew's buddies here to celebrate his birthday and enjoying the gorgeous day at the beach.  I got back to yoga finally and had a great class.  Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

More rain today in Chesapeake and my newly stained deck beaded up and looked great
in the rain!  My son and I are going to put another coat on tomorrow.  I did get this little painting done today and well as some marketing efforts.  I am sending more pieces to my gallery in Richmond and got a new commission for the holidays.  Tonight I am meeting a friend for dinner at a favorite restaurant so all in all a great day.  Hope yours has been productive and fun as well.  Thank you to my new buyers!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sheep Lamb Pastoral Landscape

Mother And Child

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

What a busy day! I began the day with a walk and then put a delicious dinner in the crockpot

that was chicken with cranberries, orange, cinnamon, and chile sauce. I am loving my new crockpot and can't think it is great but smelling all that great food when you are HOME is tough. I actually broke down and had some for an afternoon snack too. I almost finished two paintings. I will be posting a little wren tomorrow night. Then, I had my hair cut and painted some more. Here it is at 10:00 and I am watching Anderson Cooper while I listed and write this blog. Wish I had a little helper to clean my brushes. Some people find it relaxing after a long day to clean brushes. I have tried freezing them, covering them in saran wrap, and just plain ignoring them. That is not the best option. Well, hope your week has been a good one and that you have someting fun to do over the weekend. I really enjoyed working on this mother sheep and her baby. I have three wonderful "babies"....the youngest will leave the nest next year and some of my best memories were having them huddle close to me sharing life and nature. It just brings a smile to my face!

The other day I was watching a commercial about Polar Bears and how they are struggling to survive with all the melting ice caps. They are such beautiful creatures and I just had to paint one. This is a happy piece and I couldn't wait to list it. I had so much fun painting it! Hope your week has been going well!

Norma Wilson Original Oil English Cow In The Moonlight

18" by 24" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

All was pretty quiet around the home front today so I got some good painting done. Andrew is up the eastern shore with a friend's church group working on a habitat for humanity house. Sean worked at the Olive Garden and the dogs and cat were pretty quiet as well. The weather has been really nice so Brewsky and Bailee enjoy hanging out outside. It is so cute catching them sunning on the deck together or poking around the yard. Their relationship was not always an amicable one. Bailee used to curl her lip and bare her teeth and did ALOT of growling. He work her down with his charming ways and now they are fast friends.

I am excited about tonight's cow. I love these white faced cows with black bodies. They have a formal look about them with very soft, sweet faces. Hope you like it too!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Rooster On The Fence

14" by 18" on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

I can't believe it is 11 o'clock and I am still in my studio doing my blog. My intention was to get in bed early tonight but that didn't happen. Andrew's first game of the season was great. His team won 2 to 0. Yeah! Today was such a beautiful sunny day with all the blossoms bright and colorful. It made for a nice evening in the stadium.

Today I finished this rooster which I really like. I like the white roosters and the darker background. I am aure it will find a good home to roost. I also worked on a schnauser portrait and I will be posting it tomorrow. I am trying to do quite a few of the animal portraits for my upcoming show in Ghent next week called the Fred Huette Herb and Craft Sale. It is a fun show and I was able to get an indoor spot so I don't have to set up my tent. If you are local and around next weekend, stop by and see me!
