Tonight's post is a new size and painting surface for me. I decided to do a summer series on archival mat board that has been gessoed several times. I enjoy the look of oil on paper. I love the texture and how it looks with a mat surrounding the image. It is a fun surfact to paint on and I chose 5" by 5" because it is a bit smaller than most of mine and can be matted up to an 11 by 14. This was my first time to paint a schnauzer dog. One of Andrew's closest friends has two who always greet us at the door with all kinds of love and enthusiasm! They are listed as on of the top 10 dogs in America so they make wonderful family pets. It is currently listed on auction.

I had a great day today teaching in the afternoon at Harbor's Edge. I didn't paint this evening but had some down time in my family room. Tomorrow I will be working on several pet portrait commissions and getting ready for next week's Fred Huette Herb and Crafts Show in downtown Ghent. Please come see me if you live in the area.
