#115 Pink Geranium

#115 Pink Geranium
8" by 8" original oil on panel
225.

Today we went to Stoney's which is a local nursery that has the most beautiful flowers and herbs. They also have very creative ways to display your flowers and wonderful containers.  They will have things planted in old chairs and antique sewing machines.  I even saw geraniums growing in a military ordinance box. I was bitten by the gardening bug again when my friend, Claudia so generously gave me some some day lilies from her garden and some rosemary.  Today I picked up some gorgeous pink geraniums for a large pot and some bay leaves and lavender.  Another benefit of growing a garden is being able to paint your flowers and it is always a great learning tool to paint something from real life.
Who knows what I will paint tomorrow...most days I don't have a clue until I get into my studio.  Saturday evening is the opening of the Norfolk Academy art show and I am excited to have four of my paintings in the show.  It goes from 6 to 8 and is at 1585 Wesleyn Drive.  If you are local, I hope to see you there!  Have a great Friday!

This is beautiful! It was so much fun painting these in your studio today! They're going to look great against your house on the front steps!
