Painting #17 of Thirty Dogs And A Cat Challenge

"Schug"

© Norma Wilson, original oil on canvas 12"by 12"

SOLD

This southern belle hails from South Carolina where she lives with her sister who is a Corgi like her and every bit as cute. She will be featured this month also and her name is Lucy. Thank you to her human Mom, Luanne for allowing me to spend time with her at my easel. Look at those big brown eyes. Don't you just want to give her a treat?

Rose

Rose

© Norma Wilson, oil on canvas, 20" by 20"

895.

This was my first time painting a rose and it was quite a challenge.  I painted a smaller rose with my

class and it was a little more loose and impressionistic.  I wanted to do a larger size as I enjoyed it so

much.  I can't do puzzles to save my life but love to piece together details in more complex

subjects.  It must be a different skill but it always mystifies me.

All the animals were napping before their trip to Norfolk Academy for the upcoming art show.  They

will be ready to view on April 25th if you live locally and want to attend the show.  I will post more

details soon.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

#121 Painting Flowers In My Studio

#121 Painting Flowers In My Studio!
20" by 20" on wrap around canvas

As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life.  ~John Lubbock

My friends, Claudia and Adele, came to paint in my studio today and we decided to paint a floral using flowers from Claudia's garden and a vase I had on hand.  It was fun as always to see what we each painted.  I do not have this one cropped intentionally because it is not finished but I wanted to stay true to posting a painting each day. When this piece is completed it will be put straight into my available works.
