Norma Wilson Original Acrylic Fruit Watermelon Slice

Today's post is a 6" by 8" original acrylic on canvas board. It is currently on auction on eBay.

This piece was done on Friday when I taught at Harbor's Edge Retirement Community. One of the ladies asked me to stay late and suggested I do a quick study of the watermelon that some had worked on that day. I really enjoyed chatting with her and relaxing after class. I also learned that my commute home was much better at that time as most of the rush hour has passed. I think I will do this again next week! Hope you weekend has been a good one. I have felt a bit "off" and plan to get busy in the morning starting with a good long walk to clear my head! Take care!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Lemon Trio Still Life Art

Today started pretty slowly with lots of time spent on my laptop doing some marketing and gathering painting ideas and I finally got up to my studio this evening to begin this still life in my studio. I think I needed some down time after teaching yesterday and doing Danna Crawford's Blogtalk radio last night. I had fun spending the hour with Danna talking about my journey on eBay and if you'd like to listen to it just click here. http://www.blogtalkradio/dannacrawford

I enjoyed doing this fruit still life and the freshness of the contrasting color palette. It is currently on auction on eBay. Thanks for visiting with me for a bit! http://tinyurl.com/2tx4gc

Norma Wilson Original Oil Lime Trio Fruit Still Life

Tonight's post is a 5" by 7" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted. It was great fun to paint today starting with slicing into the fresh lime which brought back memories of living in San Diego years ago and all the wonderful Mexican food we ate there....not to mention the Corona's with a wedge of lime. It is amazing how our senses trigger memories. This was definately a good one.

Today was a good day teaching part of the day in my studio. My student worked on a pineapple which turned out beautiful and made me think of the Caribbean. It is no wonder I found myself wanting to work on more fruit tonight. Well, thanks for checkin' in ! http://tinyurl.com/2tx4gc
