Norma Wilson Virgina Artist Original Oil Charalois Cow Cattle Art

Sweet Sweet Charalois

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Texture, texture, texture!!! I love working with palette knives! Each knife puts down a different marking too and it is fun switching things up. I am using a new paint too called Charvin and it is French. Love the consistency and pigment load....very rich and pretty colors. Hope your spring is going well and that you are getting out to enjoy the beautiful weather. I have been riding my bike almost every day and I look forward to it so much and the chance to enjoy all the pretty flowering trees and flowers in my neighborhood. Have a great day!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Llama Animal Portrait Art

Pretty Llama Girl!

6" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Happy Holidays! I have been taking a bit of time off to enjoy family and the festivities. I have worked on a couple of commissioned pieces but this is my first post in a week or so. Hope you had a great time over the holiday season. I can't believe it is almost the new year! It has been a good year and I have had a wonderful time with my three sons all under one roof and visiting friends and girl friends. I made two big pots of chili...one beef and one turkey. There have been a lot of football games on downstairs. I took time out to watch Mamma Mia with my son Patrick, and his girlfriend, Tessa. We might go see the new Brad Pitt movie in the next couple of days.

I will need to get lots of time in at my easel in the next week as I will be in an upcoming show at Norfolk Collegiate soon. There is also a show at the Artists Gallery called the Fabulous Forgeries that I'd love to do.....yikes. Well, thanks for checking in!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Lime Trio Fruit Still Life

Tonight's post is a 5" by 7" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted. It was great fun to paint today starting with slicing into the fresh lime which brought back memories of living in San Diego years ago and all the wonderful Mexican food we ate there....not to mention the Corona's with a wedge of lime. It is amazing how our senses trigger memories. This was definately a good one.

Today was a good day teaching part of the day in my studio. My student worked on a pineapple which turned out beautiful and made me think of the Caribbean. It is no wonder I found myself wanting to work on more fruit tonight. Well, thanks for checkin' in ! http://tinyurl.com/2tx4gc
