Today I had a wonderful "daycation" with two of my sons. I am not sure if I invented that word but it was great spending time at a nearby restaurant on the water only miles from my home with sailboats docked nearby and gulls overhead. It was a great inspiration for painting and to take time out for what is most important in life! Hope you had a great start to the week and I so appreciate you stopping by!

I love to paint these small up close and personal portraits of nature's creatures. This fella seems to be

taking it all in and in the moment. As life gets more distracting for us humans, it is refreshing to spend time in the presence of birds and animals who can help bring us back to the beauty of "now".

More fun with auctions! Gully is off on a journey from Virginia Beach to who knows where? To bring him to your town, click to bid! I do like the close up view which gives him the look of a gull deep in thought, the sun on his back and one last look at the beach before he takes off. Hope your week has been a good one. I have been painting and teaching my oil classes which meet twice a week and tomorrow I am going to see the Parade Of Sails in Norfolk! TGIF!
