Robbie 2 by Norma Wilson

Robbie 2

This little guy took a little longer than  usual to complete as a commission because the decision was made after I began to move back to the home where I raised my boys. It all happened in two weeks time! The last two weeks have been spent settling in and setting up my new...old studio once again. His pet parents had me paint a second portrait of him as Cairn terriers apparently change colors during their lives. The other I did of him now with dark hair and this was from his puppy years. All in all, I am getting to know Robbie pretty well. He sure is a cutie!

Speaking Siamese

Speaking Siamese
8" by 8" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Not much work done today in my art world but I did get this piece
back from a gallery that I did awhile back.  It is one of my favorite cat portraits.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Custom Pet Portrait Dauchsund Dog Art

Dapper Dude

5" by 7" original oil on wrap around canvas. For more information on this piece, contact me at normasart@cox.net. I had fun with this little guy! Wonder what he is all dressed up for?
I have had a busy day in my studio that began with shipping a painting out and then working on two commissioned pieces. I would love to share them but don't want to ruin anyone's holiday surprise. I haven't even begun my own shopping yet! Hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for checking in with me.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Itty Bitty Yorkie

Itty Bitty Yorkie

ACEO 2.5 by 3.5 canvas board

I am just tickled with this little face and the format of this painting. It is a miniature that is
the size of a trading card and many people collect them and either frame them with a mat board
up to a 5 by 7 or in a standard frame or even under the glass of a coffee table. It would make a very sweet gift for a yorkie owner or animal lover as well.

We had a big storm today and it cooled off quite a bit which is good as my air conditioner is on the fritz upstairs again. My son, Patrick, and his dog, Jet headed back to Harrisonburg as well. Jet really enjoyed his trip to to the Outer Banks and time spent frolicking in the waves.

I had a busy day of errands and studio time with work done on several pieces.

Tabby Cat Up Close

Tabby Cat Up Close

I'm back! I think this is the longest I have gone since I started this blog without posting! I have had some exciting changes going on with my art business and needed to focus on them for a bit and I also had family visiting. I have two new galleries that are showing my work!! One is in Richmond called Gallery 5800 and the other is here in Norfolk called Bonnie Arnold's. Gallery 5800 has a web site but doesn't have my work up on it yet. If you are in the Richmond area, you can stop by to see them. It is a beautiful gallery and a great area to shop and get a bite to eat. I will be adding links to my blog for both. Bonnie Arnold's is carrying my pet portraits. This one is going to there this week. If you are down in Ghent....stop by and visit. She is on West 21st street near Colonial. She has an interior designer on site, beautiful local art, jewelry and accessories for your home. If you are interested in having a portrait of your pet done and don't live in Norfolk, you can contact me by e-mailing me at normasart@cox.net for more information!
I also spent time with Dorothy Fagan learning how to work my new fine art printer and photoshop which I have had for two years now and had no idea what it is capable of doing!
I am happy to be back in the swing of things and the paint is flying again!
Next weekend, my son, Sean, is graduating from Virginia Tech. I am so proud of him!
