Norma Wilson Original Oil Autumn Road Landscape Trees Foliage Nature Paintings Art

"Autumn Woods"

©Norma Wilson, Original Oil, 8" by 10"

The air is getting that cool crisp feeling once again. My two favorite seasons are Spring and Autumn. Time to get out the extra blanket and drink some hot chocolate.  I had fun staying a bit more loose and impressionistic with this piece. It is always the goal but sometimes quite a challenge not to tighten up again! What are your favorite things about this time of year?

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sacred Lotus Floral Flower Garden Lily Pad Painting Art

"Sacred Lotus"

© Norma Wilson, original oil, 8" by 10"

SOLD

It is no wonder these flowers are often used to represent peaceful zen like endeavors. I used to go to a yoga studio called The Blue Lotus. They are amazing flowers growing in ponds amidst the lily pads.
They are very fun to paint too! We need more peace in this world and I hope you can spend time in nature today or experience peaceful moments in the midst of the hustle and bustle or the sad news stories. Have a wonderful day.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Seascape Rocky Beach Coastal Decor Living Painting Art

"Rocky Beach"

©Norma Wilson, original oil, 8"by 10"

SOLD

This scene reminds me of the beaches we saw out in California when we lived in San Diego and also up in Rhode Island. This piece was so much fun to paint. I am enjoying these coastal scenes. Yesterday my nephew and I took a walk along the boardwalk here in Virginia Beach and the weather was gorgeous! It was hard to believe that mother nature was playing havoc to our south! Hope wherever you live that your week is going well. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!

Love this guy and with his sweet expression and all that fur! He lives with his family in Virginia Beach with two other dogs. His "Mom", Amy is a very talented lady who shares her love of knitting and does beautiful work! We met while both teaching at Michael's sharing what we love to do with others. Hope I have captured your Bailey!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Starfish Sea Creature Ocean

Hidden Treasure

11" by 14" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

"Happiness depends more in the inward disposition of mind than on the outward circumstances." Benjamin Franklin

I really like this quote and it is a good one to post on the frig as I know I tend to forget this sometimes....wanting to control outcomes at times...thinking I know what will make me or others happy. :-) It can be like a switch in the brain to chose happy over unhappy. I experienced it today when my grandpuppy decided to give my tomato plant a bit of a "pruning". Needless to say....there will be no tomatoes this summer from this plant. My friend, Barbara, had given it to me as a tiny plant that she had started from seed. I was feeling a lot of pride that I had watered it every day and you would have thought no one else on the planet had such a perfect plant...I became very "attached". When it happened, I made a bit of an "issue" about it with my son and pretty quickly realized that I had a choice to be happy and spread happiness or do just the opposite. Feeling good and spreading cheer is definitely better but sometimes the opposite is SO tempting! If you are reading this Barbara, I HAVE taken steps to protect the herbs! Enjoy the weekend!

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Cow From Ireland Art

Ireland's Bovine Lady

12" by 12" original oil on gallery wrapped canvas with sides painted

I thought this cow had such a sweet face and a softness about her. I think I captured it. She was fun to spend time with this afternoon.

What a speedy week it has been. I have been painting a lot and had my student over yesterday. Tomorrow I am at Harbor's Edge for a class again. I reorganized my studio a bit and now have shelving with a wooden palette on top of it in front of my easel and I am really liking the new set up. It's amazing how a change like that can make you so much more productive. It has been such a windy, rainy day today. It felt like it was night time all day and the rain was torrential for hours. I was proud of myself for resisting the urge to take a nap and completed three paintings! Hope your Friday and the weekend are great! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Chincoteague Deer Up Close

Today's post is a 12 by 12 original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted. It was inspired from my trip to Chincoteague where I was able to photograph this deer and her baby at the side of the road, They both seemed unfazed at our being so close as they munched on the grass. She did look up occasionally to see what all the fuss was about! Click to Bid!
