I have been having so much fun painting coastal themed paintings lately. Whenever I travel inland to visit family, I am always so excited to return to the sights and sounds of coastal Virginia. My son visited the other day and he has been away from our area for awhile. We stopped in to 17th Street Surf Shop for him to get a bathing suit and he became very nostalgic for the beach clothes he used to love.  There is a laid back feel here that you don't feel inland. I seem to want to prolong the summer feeling with these gulls at the beach! Our weather is helping to do the same today with the temperature nearing 70 and a beautiful breeze coming in the window.  Others must be feeling the same as these birds have been finding new homes very quickly.
