So happy it is Friday! Hope you have had a great week.  This piece is one that I thought was

finished and after spending time with it, decided that I would like a darker background and a little more

softness to the leaves.   Just ready that it will be 70 next week.  Might see some of these coming up early!

Norma Wilson Original Acrylic Red Hibiscus Floral Portrait

Red Hibiscus

9" by 12" original acrylic on board

These tropical beauties are a favorite among many gardeners.  I remember my first introduction to them on a trip to the islands many years ago.  Our room had bowls filled with water and hibiscus floating in them.  It was such a pretty display and they would stay pretty all day.  Hope your week is going well.
Thank you for stopping by!

Norma Wilson Original Acrylic Pansy Floral Still Life

6" by 12" original acrylic on canvas board

Hope it was a good productive Monday for you. Mine started slowly but got in high gear and I feel good about all I accomplished. My house looks so Christmasy from the other night so that was very inspiring. I shipped out a few paintings, one to Canada so I had to go to the post office. Lots of laundry was done in between and I even made up a batch of friend chicken which pleased the teenage crowd. This painting was done a couple of weeks ago when I was teaching at Harbor's edge. I did a demonstration and had picked these flowers out of my own garden on the way out to the car. Sometimes the last minute inspirations are the most fun. I love the contrast of the colors of the vase and pansies against the neutrals of the background. Hope you like it too! Hope you are taking time to smell the roses or pansies in this case as the season gets in high gear. :-) One of my students is a master gardener and loves the smell of pansies!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sunflowers In Red Vase

14" by 16" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Today was a really great day with my morning spent organizing my studio. It is amazing what a difference organizing my surroundings makes on the calmness of my brain. In the afternoon I taught here at home and then headed down to Harbor's Edge where I teach on Friday. They were having a special dinner and art show called, "April In Paris". I was invited to join and the student's work was on display. It was a great evening. When I came home, I finished up this piece and began a rooster that I will be posting tomorrow. Last night I didn't get in bed until after midnight so I am going to try to make it earlier tonight. Have a super day today!
