Norma Wilson Original Oil Bird Seascape Coastal Decor Marsh Painting Art

"Morning Catch"

© Norma Wilson, original oil on canvas 5"x 7"

SOLD

Back, after another trip to the Apple store with my computer. My cursor was going crazy with a mind of its own. It needed a new trackpad and seems to be behaving now. So this piece was actually posted to eBay a couple of days ago. Hope your week has been a good one. And now the holiday weekend is here. Stay safe!

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! -Day Seventeen

Keeping Watch

5" by 7" original oil on panel

150.

Purchase Information

This piece started out very different than it ended up.  The water was very light blue and did not highlight the power of this gull's expression.  He looks very alert and so the water now has more depth and I imagine he senses a change coming...perhaps a storm is coming.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Sea Gull Beach Seascape Painting Art

Gull Walk

8" by 8" original oil on panel

225.

It was so good to see the sun today after yesterday's storm.  The sea looks so rough today with some of the highest waves I have seen so far.  I just had to pull out some photos of sea gulls I had taken last
year when the weather was warmer.  I am pretty pleased with the gull and look forward to walking along the beach in the warm sunlight!
Also, wanted to mention that I will be teaching acrylic workshops at Michael's on Laskin Road in Virginia Beach starting next week.  They are having an open house this week with special prices for the classes so stop by between 11 and 3 and I will be there at a display table!  If you'd like more info, send me an email at normasart@cox.net.

Swan Up Close

So Demure!
5" by 7" on gallery wrap canvas
$150.

Yeah, it's the weekend!  I'm so excited to have all my boys here for the weekend.  Had a great day of painting today.  I spent the morning painting with Scott London, of London Square Gallery.  I worked on a large elephant painting that I had such fun doing and it is almost finished.  I hope to post it tomorrow.  I am exhausted after working on it!  Hope you have a great Saturday!  Contact me at normasart@cox.net if you have any questions for me...oh, I would have posted this yesterday but blogger was down.  I had fixed the size of two photographs on the side of my blog and now they are too big again!  I think they must have returned all the blogs to a previous time before I had made the changes....too tired tonight to fix them.  Nite nite.

Red Bird

6" by 6" on wrap around canvas with sides painted making framing optional.

"I have been in love with painting ever since I became conscious of it at the age of six.  I drew some pictures which I thought fairly good when I was fifty, but really nothing I did before the age of 70 was of any value at all.  At seventy-three, I have at last caught every aspect of nature -- birds, fish, animals, insects, trees, grasses, all.  When I am eighty I shall have developed still further, and will really master the secrets of art at ninety.  When I reach one hundred my art will be truly sublime, and my final goal will be attained around the age of onehundred and ten, when every line and dot I draw will be imbued with life."     Hokusai (1760-1849)

My friend and fellow artist, Gina Buzby shared this quote with me. It really spoke to me about having goals but then enjoying the journey.  We are students of life as long as we have breath left in us!  Yesterday I had fun with the ladies I teach at Harbor's Edge and we were brainstorming about things to learn and try in the New Year with our painting.  One of the things I have always wanted to do is paint small portraits of women who are seniors as they have lived and loved and seen so much!  If you have any pictures to share with me of someone who would be willing to have me paint them or even from an old picture of someone no longer living, please send it to me at normasart@cox.net.  I can't promise to paint all of them but I will give them a try.  This is one of the goals that is formulating in my mind for the New Year.  Thank you!  Have a wonderful weekend.  p.s. the picture can be close up of the face or a candid shot doing an activity :-)  I have one of my Mom on my screened porch that I started to do as a painting years ago and not I can't find it!!  I will keep searching though as it was a perfect moment of relaxation with her reading and enjoying her time here visiting.

Great productive day today with a commissioned lab painting finished, paintings shipped, and this little cutie. Time to watch Eli Stone with Andrew now. Hope you have a great day! Norma Wilson Original Oil Pink Flamingo Bird Aviary Art

Tonight's post is a 14" by 18" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted. I love these birds for their color and dignity. I think the plastic ones on lawns have given them a bad wrap! I had fun painting it today.

I had a great day working with Danna Crawford at http://www.powersellingmom.com/ learning much about marketing on the internet and HTML code. She is an awesome teacher and so easy to work with!

I will be a guest on her eBay radio show on Friday night at 9:00 eastern time. Here is the link for more information: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/dannacrawford/2008/04/05/Norma-Wilson-Painting-Her-Way-Through-eBay
