What's Crackin?

 What's Crackin?
6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas

Available through London Square Gallery

I had so much fun today...on day two of my break through!  I was a little nervous this morning wondering if yesterday could have been a one and only experience.  Ye of little faith.  I cranked up my tunes after taking Bailee for a long walk and got to work on a couple of paintings.  I forgot to mention that I also moved my palette to the other side of the room to my french easel and am standing to paint.  It is something that most art schools suggest and I think it helps in many ways...to keep the blood flowing and also to keep you range of motion freer and the ability to back up and look at your painting from a distance.  I really want to stick with this routine.  I am also posting at 5:45 in the evening instead of 10 o'clock at night!  Hope your day has been a good one!  Thanks for the wonderful feedback about yesterday's post!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Little Chick A Dee!

My Little Chick A Dee!

This might date me a little but I remember W.C Fields saying this line in an old time movie! He of course, was not addressing a baby chick! I began this little chick awhile back and put it aside for a bit....the jury is still out on if it is finished or not...might tweek it a bit tomorrow.
Today was very productive on the home front which began with cleaning out the frig by taking everything out and washing all the shelves and then going to the store and stocking up a bit. Andrew is out of school and I wanted to get in some groceries. It
just astounds me how much teenage boys eat...especially after a day
at the beach! I also managed to get some windows cleaned, ride my
bike and paint! I really don't see myself cleaning those brushes though..
where are those elves when you need them??? Think I will go get a snack
and call it a day. If you are interested in this piece, e-mail me at normasart@cox.net.

Chicken On The Move

8" by 10" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Well, we survived our first day of the back to school routine. Andrew and I both set our alarms on our cell phones. I didn't program my blackberry right. :-( I'll give it a try again tonight! I had a super busy day shipping paintings, sending boxes up to Sean at school, running errands, grocery shopping and whew....I crashed on the sofa to watch the television and relax a bit. Both Andrew and I have been pretty nocturnal these last few months so we both have to adapt to the new schedule. I am looking forward to a full day in the studio tomorrow so I am getting to sleep early. Hope your week is going well! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Rooster Chicken Cockeral Art

Title: Rooster Cutie Steppin' Out!

5" by 7" original oil on clayboard.

Today was super busy and very productive. Andrew finally got his licence after a paperwork glitch at his school that delayed him a couple of weeks. He is one happy camper. He is enjoying his last week before school starts with time at his friend's pools and video game tournaments and I am also getting some last minute chores out of him while I can! Tonight we had a meeting at Olde Towne Art Studios which was great with all kinds of things on the calender. Hope you'll join us for First Friday in Portsmouth which runs from 5 to 9. We'll be having an auction of original art by many of the artists who share studio space there. Bailee has been a bit lost without her partner in crime, Brewsky. I took her on a long walk this morning and have been giving her extra treats to console her. I did notice a big geyser in my back yard and found a big sprinkler head that Brewsky had "removed" and brought into the house! Guess he let that sprikler know who was boss! Have a nice Tuesday and hope you'll check in with me again soon! Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Royal Rooster 2 Chicken Art

Hello Again.....as the days of summer are winding down and it is back to school next week for my high schooler, I find myself feeling a bit sad and yet also feel like I am about to enter a new phase of my life. This past year has been such a time of growth with my art business as well as adjusting to life as a single Mom. My oldest just moved out on his own and my middle son and his puppy returned to Virginia Tech. We have to have such faith sending those we love the most out into the world and just know we are where we should be in life and all is well. I am in the process of getting a new customized look for my eBay store and reorganizing my home studio and looking forward to excitement to this new busy time of year in the fall. Today's post is a 12 by 12 rooster....I love painting these happy fellas. I hope to get back into some of my bigger paintings in the coming week and also some of the little 6 by 6 figuratives. I love to hear from all of you and appreciate all the suggestions and positive feedback. For more information on this piece...
