Standing By Mom Cow Painting Animal Art!

Standing By Mom
12 by 24" original oil on canvas with sides painted.
495.

It was so good to get back to painting today after a time away in Lynchburg catching up with a dear college friend.  We reminisced and laughed and at times it seemed like it was just yesterday that we walked to class together.  I came back and saw this mother and baby calf that I started long before I moved here to the beach and with my refreshed eyes, I decided to bring them to life!  I love those transparent oils and the light I am able to capture using them.  Hope your summer is going well so far.  It was good to get a bit of relief from the extreme heat of the last week.  I forgot to tell Andrew to water my plants so they were looking pretty stressed but I had a few cucumbers!!  It is amazing how delicious they are when you grow them yourself!  Thank you for checking in with me!

Norma Wilson Virginia Artist Original Oil Rooster Chicken Painting Art

Red Hot Rooster

9" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

This week is a a momentous week in my life as my youngest prepares to graduate from high school tomorrow night. I am so proud of him as he has worked hard and is headed to Virginia Tech in August.

Seeing him in that plastic cart that they put newborns in in the hospital is as clear as it was that day. Funny how some memories are burned into your mind and heart so vividly. It has been a wonderful journey watching all three of my boys grow into men and I know I have many more memories ahead. This little rooster was fun to play with color and something light so as not to get too teary this week! Hope you enjoy it and thanks as always for checking in with me! Have a great week. For more information on this and any of my other paintings, please contact me at normasart@cox.net

Great productive day today with a commissioned lab painting finished, paintings shipped, and this little cutie. Time to watch Eli Stone with Andrew now. Hope you have a great day! Norma Wilson Original Oil Proud White Cow Cattle

Proud White Cow

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

Well, today was a really busy day attending two soccer games in a weekend tournament for Andrew. The first game was at 9:00 and it was FREEZING! I thought I had layered enough but it was crazy cold with strong winds in a wide open space of many fields. The second game I went prepared!!! I raided my older son's closet and found long johns, hats, gloves, a special thermal blanket made for just such occasions, and sweatshirt. I stopped at 7 11 and got a steaming cup of hot chocolate and parked much closer. I was absolutely toasty in temperatures which felt like high 20's with the wind.Tomorrow's games might be back to back if they win the first one so I am planning on adding yet another layer! You can't be too sure!

I enjoyed painting tonight in my studio as I felt really toasty and grateful for my warm home and to be doing something that I love so much. Hope your weekend is a good one and that you are staying warm too!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Irish Horned Cow Art

6" by 6" original oil on gallery wrap canvas with 1 and a half inch sides painted.

Why did the cow wear a bell around her neck? Because her horn didn't work....:-) Not sure who the author of this joke is but I am guilty of repeating it! Today's cow has horns and I am told that most start out with them but farmer's cut them off. This one was spared that! I painted this one with lots of paint and in a couple of layers which gives it alot of great texture. She seems very skeptical!

As usual this week is flying by! I guess that is a good thing. I am definitely not bored! Hope your week is going well. Thanks for checking in... Click to Bid!

Norma Wilson Original Oil White Irish Cow Hen Art

12" by 16' on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Hello all,

What a busy day I had today shipping and preparing for a presentation I gave this evening at the Chesapeake Bay Art Association which was all about eBay. I really enjoyed the group and learned all about some local shows coming up soon. I even had time to list this rooster which is quite the lively guy. Can't believe tomorrow is already Wednesday! I wonder what life would be like if we didn't track time but just allowed the moments to be.... Not sure where that came from. Enjoy!
