Click To Bid

It's been awhile since I painted a white cow on red. It is pretty striking. Still having fun on eBay listing some of my older pieces and new small ones as well. I am growing a following on there and it is exciting to see which subjects draw the most attention. I love the immediacy of response and the excitement of the bidding. Go ahead and check it out! I'd love your feedback on some subjects you'd like to see me paint!

Sneakers At The Door by Norma Wilson

Sneakers At The Door

© Norma Wilson, original acrylic on canvas 8"x 10"

So many memories of boys coming home after school and kicking their shoes off by the door. I never told them to do this but they always did and their friends followed suit. Lots of shoes meant lots of friends and fun being had up in the play room. Wish I knew how fast this time would fly by...

A Different Perspective

A Different Perspective

Off to a great start with about five hours in my studio today.  I decided that posting one day a week is not enough so I am mending my ways.  This morning I began my day working in a sketch book using some old watercolors that have been stored away in a drawer.  Feeling the need to just play and do some creative journaling just for me.  It really did just what I hoped and got me in the creative mode and before I knew it, I was cranking up the tunes and working at my easel.  I think I am on to something!  I really like this "edgy" composition.  Thank you for stopping by!

Just Passing Through

I am loving my series class with Lisa Call!!  She packs so much into the lessons about
design, artists who have worked in a series and even help with improving your studio discipline.  I highly recommend it if you really want to take on a challenge and deepen your creativity.  I actually do several pages of sketches before ever sitting down to my easel.

Hope your week has been going well.  I want to share a video with you that I saw one day on Facebook.  It really changed how I look at cows and made me love the even more.   I think it will make you smile.

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! - Day Fourteen

Sweet Bella!

2.5 by 3.5

Today was a super busy day which began with an oil painting class that I teach at Town Center.  We did a paint along and then I had an acrylic class to teach at the Oceanfront.  When I came home I got back to painting after dinner.  I had hoped to post my painting from this morning which is an 18 by 24 but after working on it for awhile, I realized that I didn't want to rush it so that left me with a painting to do for my challenge.  I chose a baseball card size canvas and got to work on my favorite subject...a sweet cow named Bella.  After awhile, I realized I was holding my breath...hopefully tomorrow won't be quite as rushed. :-)  This will make a nice study for a larger piece.  I will repost in the morning after taking a less shiny picture in the daylight.  I only realized today that my mailing list was not receiving my blog daily blog posts for the entire challenge so far!  I took care of the problem which involved an email of mine that went inactive.  So sorry for the lapse.  Have a wonderful day!

One of my favorite places to visit with friends or take my lap top on a Sunday morning.  I end up people watching more than I do surfing the web.  I used to love cafe au lait but now just love regular coffee.  What's your favorite?

One of my favorite memories of my children growing up is watching them play at the beach!  I still love to walk along the beach in summer and see families relaxing and spending time together soaking all the sights and sounds and the wonderful sea breeze!  This little girls seemed to be expressing her glee with her hands outstretched while her brother is busy at work. :-)  It was great fun to capture this in paint!  Have a wonderful weekend!

This piece was December's demonstration for my oil group.  It was a nice subject to paint for the holidays.   Last night, I watched White Christmas which has been my tradition since I was a child. Something so magical when they pulled back the stage doors and it was snowing!  I still hope for
snow on Christmas!  Have a fabulous week!

Thirty Paintings In Thirty Days! #30!! Yea!

Barney Steps Out Of The Shadows!

11" by 14" original oil on canvas

I painted Barney in a class as a demo.  I think he has a bit of a Halloween thing going sneaking out of the shadows like he is.  He was fun to paint.  The class enjoyed painting pigs and like always. they each come out looking a little different and unique.  Hope your day is a great one!  Thanks for following me on my thirty day challenge.  I will still be painting often and will try to keep painting some new subjects like more people.  If you have any pictures you would like to see me paint, write to me at normasfineart@gmail.com.
