Rooster Ramone

Rooster Ramone
6" by 12" original oil on canvas
250.

Roosters are so much fun to watch, and even more fun to paint!  Gotta love that flash of red color on top of their heads that makes such a statement!  I had a lovely evening at Gallery Flux after taking them some new paintings.  They had a reception in their wonderful space with light streaming in all the windows.  It is located in Ashland which is only fifteen minutes form Richmond.

If you are ever in Ashland, I hope you will stop in and see this great gallery!  Happy Friday!

6" by 6" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Today I began my day with another great bike ride. The weather is so gorgeous and when I came home intended to work on a portrait I have been working on and a cow commission but this beautiful mango was sitting in my kitchen begging to be painted!
Sometimes you just have to follow your inspirations! It made me smile the whole time I painted. Hope it makes you smile too! For more information on this piece or any of my other paintings, please e-mail me at normasart@cox.net.

Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
The Wheel of Life (Scribner)
I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame of that heats our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Goose Bird Painting Art

Loosey Goosey

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Such fun with a palette knife! Working with knives is challenging and a wonderful
way to keep things loose and fun. I had a great time working on this one and can't wait to work with a knife again soon. More texture to come! For more information on this painting, contact me at normasart@cox.net.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Bovine Lady Cow Painting

SOLD

Bovine Lady

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I loved the softness of this cow and the expression I saw in her face.

Earlier today I met my friend, Adele, and we painted at a marina in Portsmouth. It was so pretty and great to be outside with all the sounds of the boats bobbing up and down and the birds overhead. I didn't complete the painting yet but might go back next week and hope that the boats will be in the same spot! I am definitely excited about finding more places around Hampton Roads to paint. We decided next time, we would end up having lunch at a place near our destination! If you are interested in this painting, e-mail me at normasart@cox.net!

What fun I had with this piece with lots of rich color as well as sublte greys. I enjoyed using the palette knife and using a lot of thick paint! I think it looks like a very proud rooster!

Today was a busy day with a trip to Richmond and tomorrow promises to be another exciting day of painting outside in Portsmouth with boats as out subject matter. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.

One Little Pig

One Little Pig

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I have been having a relaxing weekend and didn't plan on posting but at the last minute decided to post this little pig which I did this past weekend as a commission for a client in Canada. She is doing a series of three farm animals on her fireplace mantle and this little guy is one of them. The other is a cow and another was a rooster head. I enjoyed doing this little guy and really like his face. He makes me smile.
Andrew had some of his friends over this weekend and they all went to the beach. Today has been a little overcast but still nice. I plan to work a little and then get out and enjoy some of it! I will be working on a newsletter this coming week using Constant Contact. I had used it last year and stopped and decided it was worth starting up again. They have great looking templates and people to help you learn how to use them! I will let you know how it goes! If you would like to sign up for it ahead of time, drop me a line!

Norma Wilson Cow Painting

Angel In The Field

12" by 12" on wrap around canvas with 3/4 inch sides painted.

What a busy weekend in the studio! The paint was flying with several commissions and fun with palette knives again! I worked on one of my favorite subjects...a beautiful white cow but this time done with knives. It sure uses a lot of paint but I am hooked on the texture!!! Let me know which you prefer! While I was in my studio out of the heat and painting...what were you up to??
