Norma Wilson Original Oil Rooster Chicken Painting Art SOLD

Early Mornin' Riser  SOLD

6" by 12" on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

I have always admired roosters for their ability to get up so early and greet the day with such enthusiasm. Ever since I can remember I have greeted the day in quite a different fashion. I remember my Mom hitting the kitchen ceiling below my room with a broom handle and hearing her call out NORMA....time for school!!!! Now I awaken to my cell phone and max out on the number of times I can hit the snooze button! Some things never change. Once up and after my first cup of coffee...I slowly adjust to daylight and ease into the day. For now, I will just keep on admiring people who are like roosters and naturally jump out of bed!

Norma Wilson Virgina Artist Original Oil Charalois Cow Cattle Art

Sweet Sweet Charalois

12" by 12" original oil on wrap around canvas with sides painted.

Texture, texture, texture!!! I love working with palette knives! Each knife puts down a different marking too and it is fun switching things up. I am using a new paint too called Charvin and it is French. Love the consistency and pigment load....very rich and pretty colors. Hope your spring is going well and that you are getting out to enjoy the beautiful weather. I have been riding my bike almost every day and I look forward to it so much and the chance to enjoy all the pretty flowering trees and flowers in my neighborhood. Have a great day!

Norma Wilson Original Oil Virginia Artist Wood Thrush Bird Painting Aviary Art SOLD

Balancing Act  SOLD

5" by 7" original oil on wood panel with linen finish

Yesterday was one of those days that I felt like the guy at the circus who gets those plates to spinning and tries to impress us with the numbers he can spin and keep them all going without losing any! Well, I was having trouble even getting the plates to spin! Andrew woke up sick and I knew we had to take him in to see the doctor. There went the plan to go to the Navy commissary to grocery shop so the next plan was to go to Farm Fresh and get the military discount for military appreciation Monday! I even had my military ID in my hand to remind me and walked out without asking for the discount. I really think all the people could have been wearing flashing signs to remind me and it wouldn't have worked. Back at home I still can't find my plantronics ear phone....did hear something loud get sucked up into the vacuum cleaner! I didn't get my package shipped but did get a box and finally was able to get some time at my easel last night which did wonders for me to feel like I at least got one plate to spin and liked how this bird seemed to be doing a great job balancing on this branch! Some days I am like this bird and some days I am more like the squirrels I see who come crashing out of the trees and hit the ground! Hoope you have a balanced and smooth day today! Why don't they make a way that you can call your ear pieces!

Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
The Wheel of Life (Scribner)
I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame of that heats our soul, energizes our spirit and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.

Norma Wilson Original Oil Chincoteague Landscape Art SOLD

Memories of Chincoteague

9" by 12" original oil on canvas

This piece was done on a plein air painting trip to Chincoteague up on the Eastern
shore. It was a beautiful day in September and a group of us arists were gathered along the road facing this scene with our portable easels and paint brushes in hand. Towards the end of our painting session, the famous Chincoteague ponies were in view and were close enough to capture on film using a zoom lens. Those pictures were saved to use as references for future paintings.

I was pleased with how this one turned out as it captured the serenity I felt that day. This piece is sold but if you would like information on having a painting commissioned or any of my other paintings, please contact me at normasart@cox.net.
